Major League Baseball is now offering streaming options for fans who want to watch games for 20 teams, like the Dodgers, Angels, Giants, and Padres. This is a big change designed to keep up with how people are watching TV these days.
The Angels announced a new way for fans to watch their games online. Starting Tuesday, fans can subscribe to Angels.TV through the MLB app for either $99.99 for the entire season or $19.99 each month.
The Angels are pleased to be working with Major League Baseball to offer games on their streaming service. According to Angels President John Carpino, the team wants to make it simple for fans to watch games, and MLB’s app is a fantastic way to stay connected with the team.
MLB announced that fans will now be able to stream out-of-market games through the MLB app. This means fans who don’t live in the areas where the Arizona Diamondbacks, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Guardians, Colorado Rockies, Kansas City Royals, Miami Marlins, Milwaukee Brewers, Minnesota Twins, New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Rays, or Washington Nationals are located will have access to those teams’ games on the app.
Games will still be available to traditional pay-TV subscribers.
Shaikin: Should Angels fans just give up and join the Dodgers bandwagon?
The Angels have been struggling for a long time without making the playoffs. Given these difficulties, are fans justified in switching their allegiance to the Dodgers or another team?
Spectrum, a service owned by Charter Communications, used to offer Dodgers games as a streaming option through its own app, even though it also distributes SportsNet LA, the network that carries the games.
As a huge baseball fan, I was really excited to hear the news this Tuesday! ESPN is now the place to stream MLB.TV, which means I’ll be able to watch all those out-of-market games I usually miss right through the ESPN app and website. It’s a game changer for me!
ESPN is strengthening its position as the premier destination for MLB regular season coverage with the addition of MLB.TV. This move also enhances the ESPN+ subscription by giving fans more choices and convenience in how and where they enjoy baseball all season long, according to Rosalyn Durant, an ESPN executive.

A proposal for a $500 million, 1.2-mile gondola that would run from Union Station, through Chinatown, and up to Dodger Stadium—originally championed by former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt—is moving forward with initial steps toward becoming a reality.
This change is happening because traditional regional sports networks are facing difficulties as more people cancel their cable and satellite TV subscriptions. These networks used to be very profitable for both sports teams and the companies that owned them, but recently, at least one owner has gone bankrupt. This led Major League Baseball to take action and try to address the problem.
The league announced it will now handle the television broadcasts for 14 teams, including the Padres and Diamondbacks.
