Michelle Randolph asked her Landman ‘dad’ Billy Bob Thornton about drinking his ex Angelina Jolie’s blood

As Michelle Randolph and Billy Bob Thornton worked together on the popular Paramount+ series Landman, Randolph felt comfortable enough to ask him a curious question.

The 28-year-old actress, appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show on Wednesday, said she spends most of her screen time with a particular actor and found herself wondering about his past. She jokingly recalled hearing a rumor that he had once participated in a blood ritual involving Angelina Jolie.

‘Which I since have asked him about. I can’t lie.’

In 1998, while filming ‘Pushing Tin’, Billy Bob Thornton and Jeanne Tripplehorn fell in love. At the time, Thornton was engaged to Laura Dern, and Tripplehorn was dating Timothy Hutton – both accomplished actors with Oscar wins.

Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton were known for their unconventional and dramatic displays of affection. During their 2000 Las Vegas wedding, Jolie famously wore a white T-shirt with Thornton’s name written as if in blood, and she even got a tattoo of his name. For their first anniversary, they purchased matching grave plots.

Thornton told Rolling Stone last November that they each wore a small locket containing a tiny bit of their own blood.

It started as a sweet, fleeting thought, but it quickly spiraled out of control. Now, it feels like we’re trapped in a dark, destructive cycle, consumed by something unhealthy and draining – almost like we’re feeding off each other.

However, the marriage between the father of four, who had been divorced six times, and the producer and star of Couture, ended after three years.

Thornton said it was an unforgettable experience, and she and her friend remain very close.

It was a surprisingly amicable split. We just realized we wanted different things out of life and decided to go our separate ways.

Randolph, who plays Ainsley, the daughter of Tommy Norris’s character, described The Boxmasters’ frontman as incredibly easygoing.

‘That’s why he’s so good at what he does,’ the Napa Valley-born blonde told Barrymore.

I expected him to be intimidating given his impressive background, but he’s actually a wonderful actor. He has a way of bringing out genuine emotion and makes you feel comfortable, both on set and in general. I usually talk quickly and rush around, but being around him makes me want to relax.

Randolph shared that she and Ali Larter, who played her mother on screen, became close while filming, particularly during the first season, as they relied on each other for support.

We were thrilled to be cast, but quickly realized we hadn’t fully grasped the scope of the show and how our characters would fit into such a dramatic storyline,” the ‘1923’ star said.

We supported each other completely, holding hands and agreeing to face the challenge together.

The new TV series, created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, is based on Wallace’s 2019 podcast, Boomtown, and features Demi Moore, Sam Elliott, and Andy Garcia in its cast.

Jasmine Randolph and twelve of her fellow actors from the show Landman are nominated for an award recognizing outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series. The awards, now called the 32nd Actor Awards, will be presented on March 1st on Netflix.

Following a strong start to its second season – attracting 9.2 million viewers in just the first two days – Paramount+ announced on December 5th that it would be back for a third season of the oil-focused Texan drama.

The cast and crew will reportedly begin production this April or May.
