Michelle Keegan is coming back to television in a new drama for ITV, which she says feels a little scary. The actress, known for The Fool Me Once, and her husband, Mark Wright (from The Only Way is Essex), welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2025.
Keegan announced the birth of her daughter last year on Instagram. She shared a black and white photo and revealed the baby’s name: Palma Elizabeth Wright, born on March 6th, 2025, adding, “Together we have a new love to share…”
So, I heard ITV is making a new drama called The Blame and it stars Keegan! It’s going to be six episodes long and it’s based on a book by Charlotte Langley. Basically, Keegan plays a detective, DI Emma Crane, and she’s trying to figure out who killed a young figure skater. Sounds pretty intense, I’m definitely going to check it out!
It’s been challenging for the former Coronation Street actress to return to work after having her daughter. However, she recently spoke at the ITV Showcase 2026 (on April 23rd) and was eager to thank the production team for being so supportive.

According to OK! Magazine, she shared with Graham Norton that returning to work after having a baby was intimidating. She praised the show’s team, saying they were incredibly supportive and made her feel like she was working with family.

Last September, photos from the set of the ITV drama The Blame appeared online, including one of the lead actor looking stressed while filming in the rain. The show focuses on the hidden secrets, distrust, and widespread corruption within a seemingly peaceful community.
The story opens with the shocking discovery of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen’s body in the town of Wakestead. What initially appears to be a tragic accident quickly becomes a complex investigation for detectives Crane and Radley, revealing a network of secrets, cover-ups, and questionable choices.
With time running out and relationships breaking down, Crane has to solve a murder while also dealing with the difficult and backstabbing environment within her team.
Keegan is joined by Douglas Booth (known for The Riot Club), Ian Hart (Mr Bates vs. The Post Office), Nigel Boyle (Line of Duty), Joe Armstrong (Gentleman Jack), and Gavin Spokes (Slow Horses) in this series.
Polly Hill, ITV’s Head of Drama, praised the series as a captivating new crime thriller with plenty of unexpected turns. Megan Gallagher, the lead writer and executive producer, shared that “The Blame” is a vital and timely story, and she was thrilled to adapt Charlotte Langley’s characters and world for television.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautifully illustrated 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
