Metallica sets residency at Sphere in Las Vegas

Following performances by classic rock and folk artists, the Las Vegas Sphere is preparing for its next act: a performer with a more energetic and edgy sound.

Metallica will kick off their first-ever residency, “Life Burns Faster,” at the innovative Sphere venue in Las Vegas on October 1st, with shows also scheduled for October 3rd, 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, and 31st. Tickets become available on March 6th.

During Dead & Company’s popular concert series in Las Vegas, John Mayer and Bob Weir talked about how the shows started and what’s next for the band.

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich described being blown away by U2’s opening night at the Sphere in 2023, saying he immediately knew his band had to perform there too. He called it ‘uncharted territory’ and explained the residency will allow Metallica to completely reimagine its live shows and connect with fans in a new way. The band is incredibly excited to share the experience with the world in about six months and promises a next-level performance.

The band plans to continue a popular idea from their recent stadium tour: playing two completely different concerts on Thursday and Saturday nights. Last year, they also released a large, special edition reissue of their influential, though sometimes controversial, 1996 album, ‘Load’.

Sphere has a busy few months ahead with residencies scheduled for Kenny Chesney starting in June, Backstreet Boys in July, and Carin León in September.
