Metal Slug Tactics Behind the Scenes Video Offers More on the Tactical Reimagining of SNK’s Run ‘n’ Gun Series
As a gamer who grew up in the golden age of arcades, the mere mention of Metal Slug brings back a flood of nostalgia. The run ‘n’ gun series was a staple in my local arcade, and I spent countless quarters trying to master its fast-paced gameplay and over-the-top action sequences. So, when I heard about Metal Slug Tactics, I must admit, I was initially skeptical. A tactical RPG? In the world of Metal Slug? But after watching the latest behind-the-scenes video, I’m genuinely excited for this reimagining!
Developer team Dotemu and studio Leikir have shared a fresh “making of” clip for Metal Slug Tactics, offering additional insights into the forthcoming strategic role-playing game based on SNK’s iconic run ‘n’ gun franchise.
Looking at it from an isometric angle, Metal Slug Tactics offers a “newly revitalized” take, featuring beautiful pixel art crafted by the original artists of the series. Random elements ensure each playthrough is unique, while unlockable abilities, Sync attacks, and roguelike advancement add depth to gameplay.
The upcoming video provides additional insights into the strategic approach of Metal Slug and the developers’ affection for the retro arcade game, reminiscing their childhood experiences. Metal Slug Tactics is slated for release on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in fall 2024.
