Meta Says No to Bitcoin: The Sequel Nobody Wanted 🎬
Meta, the social media giant that’s too busy canceling our feeds, just shut down a shareholder’s dream. They were all like, “Bitcoin? Nah, we’re good.” Whatever, right? Who needs crypto when you’ve got facial filters and endless feeds of cat videos? 🐱🤷♂️
Meta Kicks Bitcoin Proposal to the Curb
So, during their fancy annual meeting on May 28, Meta’s shareholders – who probably just want to scroll and scroll – voted down this whole bitcoin thing. All fourteen proposals, including the big crypto one, got shot down faster than a bad date. About 92.61% of the voting power said “No, thank you,” and less than 0.1% actually liked the idea. The rest? Probably napping. About 8.9 million shares were just chilling, abstaining like they don’t want to get involved. Nice.
Matthew Sigel from Vaneck had a social media moment and summed it up: Meta joins Microsoft and Amazon in “We’re not interested”. It’s like a club no one asked to join. 🎉

Meanwhile, some companies are actually jumping on the crypto bandwagon, throwing bitcoin into their balance sheets like it’s a game. Michael Saylor’s over there saying, “Yeah, we got Bitcoin, what about you?” Meanwhile, Meta’s just watching, munching on their snacks, pretending it’s no big deal.
Microsoft and Amazon? Nope. They’re like, “Volatility? We prefer our stability, thank you very much.” Shareholders keep suggesting, “Hey, maybe put some bitcoin in there,” but the big guys say, “Nope, sounds too risky.” So, the crypto revolution is still on hold, folks. Maybe next decade. Or never. Who cares?
