Streep, 75, and Short, 74, were seen holding hands on the green carpet. 

This comes after Short insisted that he and the Oscar-winning Hollywood icon were ‘just friends.’ 

The pair were at the season four premiere of their show which was held on the Paramount Studios lot in Los Angeles.

Also with them were co-stars Selena Gomez and Steve Martin.

Since the passing of his wife, Nancy Dolman, due to ovarian cancer in 2010, Smart has been a single father to three grown children: Katherine (age 40), Oliver (age 38), and Henry (age 35).

Streep was married to artist Don Gummer for nearly 40 years, but the couple quietly split in 2017. 

They share four children, Henry, 44, Mamie, 41, Grace, 38, and Louisa Jacobson, 33.

Fans of Meryl Streep are buzzing with anticipation over the potential release of a third Mamma Mia movie, following hints dropped by Christine Baranski during her latest interview.

In a recent chat with The Hollywood Reporter, I found myself in London, sharing a drink at our preferred spot with Judy Craymer. It turned out she was brainstorming ideas for Mamma Mia 3! She shared with me the outline of the storyline that’s taking shape for this upcoming sequel.

In May, she shared with Deadline that ‘There’s a tale to be continued, and I strongly feel Meryl Streep should reprise her role — if the script is suitable, I believe she would, given her fondness for portraying Donna. I don’t want to exaggerate, but I sense there’s a trilogy in the making.’

Only Murders in the Building season four will debut on Hulu August 27.
