Matt Willis pays tribute to ‘my everything’ wife Emma on her milestone birthday with throwback snaps: ’50 looks good on you bab!’

Matt Willis celebrated his wife Emma’s 50th birthday with a sweet Instagram post on Wednesday.

The 42-year-old reality TV star, known from the show Busted, posted a collection of old photos celebrating his marriage to Emma, whom he’s been with since 2008. He affectionately called her ‘my everything‘ in the post.

In the first photo, Emma looked incredibly happy while posing with her chocolate birthday cake.

Oh my gosh, and then Matt posted even more pictures! It was like a total deep dive into Emma’s life. There was this heartbreaking one of her in the hospital right before she had one of their three kids, then a super fun pic of her out at a club, and even a really relatable one of her totally wiped out at Disneyland! But the best one? Definitely the picture of her with Dave Grohl from the Foo Fighters! I seriously can’t cope with how amazing her life is.

He sweetly wrote that she looks great at 50, expressing his deep love for her and saying he just wants to spend time with her.

You mean the world to me. Happy birthday, Emma! I’m so excited to spend the next 50 years with you. Lots of love!

Giovanna Fletcher reacted with a red heart emoji, and Davinia Taylor wrote, ‘Beautiful woman and soul’.

Last month, Matt revealed he married Emma just three days after he came out of rehab.

The singer, now recovered from addiction, shared that their wedding day was overshadowed by their recent time in rehab. Looking back, they admitted, ‘I probably shouldn’t have even been there.’

The musician has publicly discussed his difficulties with staying sober, a challenge that began after he quickly rose to fame at age 19 when he became a member of his band.

Before he was 25, he went to rehab on three separate occasions. One of those times was just a month before his 2008 wedding to Emma, after she told him he needed to get help with his substance use or she wouldn’t marry him.

In a heartfelt discussion on his podcast, On The Mend, Matt revealed he started heavily drinking and using drugs when his fiancée, Emma, was away filming a TV show just weeks before their wedding.

He confessed that the two weeks she was gone were the worst he’d ever experienced. He explained that he drank constantly, around the clock, and was genuinely afraid for his life.

Matt’s counselor and tour manager managed to get him to a rehab facility in Bournemouth, but he immediately tried to escape as soon as they arrived.

He bought a large amount of alcohol from a local store, became very drunk, and then passed out on the street.

It was a stranger who found him and physically carried him through the door of the rehab centre.

Looking back, that moment was really a turning point for me. I realized I needed to fully commit – to listen to advice, follow instructions, and just take on everything that was asked of me. It was about putting my head down and doing the work, plain and simple.

I rushed out of rehab on Thursday because my wedding was just two days away – Saturday morning, to be exact! I really wanted to be able to get married, and it was a tight turnaround, but I made it.

The couple renewed their vows in 2018 to mark their tenth anniversary.
