Cynthia Bailey shared that Mary Cosby’s son, Robert Cosby Jr., was buried in a private funeral that was also described as lively and full of spirit.
Robert Jr. passed away in late February at the age of 23, likely due to a drug overdose. A funeral service was held for him in Utah on March 7th.
During Monday’s episode of her podcast, Humble Brag, 59-year-old Bailey spoke about the funeral, saying she ‘saw the love’ there. She chose not to share many details, describing it as a very personal and private event.
The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star also said she’s looking for a church in Atlanta, and she’s definitely interested in the one associated with the group she was discussing.
The funeral service was incredible. We were all so full of energy – we sang, danced, and clapped the whole time, and I don’t think anyone actually sat down! It was a truly amazing and uplifting experience.
Bailey explained that the event wasn’t recorded by any cameras – people actually gave up their phones to ensure privacy. It was a truly personal experience, and Bailey was very happy they had attended.
Bailey exited the RHOA franchise in 2021 after filming for 11 seasons.
I’m a big fan, and it’s wonderful to see how proud she is of her daughter, Noelle! Noelle is 26, and she and her mom share a special bond, even though her parents, including Leon Robinson, aren’t together anymore.
The model explained that Robert Jr.’s death deeply affected her, especially because she is also the parent of an only child.
What struck me most was that she only had one child. She explained that when you have just one, all your love and energy goes into that single child.
Honestly, when Mary said she’d be thrilled if I came, I didn’t hesitate for a second. It just felt right, and I immediately said yes!
I was very glad I attended the funeral. She was so touched that we were there, and her friends were incredibly supportive throughout the whole thing. They really rallied around her.
As previously reported by TMZ, Lisa Barlow, Bronwyn Newport, Meredith Marks, Whitney Rose, Heather Gay, Britani Bateman, and Angie Katsanevas, all co-stars of Bill Cosby, attended his memorial service.
Bailey thought about the experience of doing the show, explaining that it’s full of ups and downs, unexpected twists, and occasional conflicts. You have to be able to handle it all with grace and stay calm, even when things get tough.
Dating women you meet through work on a show is a unique experience. But it’s great when those connections develop into genuine friendships and a supportive community.
She explained that the women on the show have a unique bond and really support each other through difficult times, which she appreciates.
Bravo announced the sad news of Robert Jr.’s death in a statement to the Daily Mail last month, saying they were deeply saddened to hear about the loss of Mary’s son.
We are deeply saddened to hear of Mary’s loss and are sending our love and support to her and her family during this very challenging time.
A separate statement was also shared on behalf of Cosby and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, Robert Jr., who is now with God. While we are heartbroken, we find comfort in our faith and the knowledge that he is at rest. We appreciate your prayers and lean on God for strength during this difficult time.
More information about what happened came to light through recordings of 911 calls, which Daily Mail acquired.
The recording indicates that paramedics were called to a situation involving a 23-year-old man who wasn’t responding and wasn’t breathing. Dispatchers confirmed that Narcan was given.
