Married At First Sight bride Julia Vogl’s ex-boyfriend makes shock admission about her sexuality – and reveals why her relationship with Grayson McIvor was doomed

I’ve been a big supporter of Julia Vogl from Married At First Sight, and I was so glad to see her ex finally address something that’s been bothering a lot of us fans. He explained what people have gotten wrong about her sexuality, and it was great to hear him set the record straight. It’s nice to see him clearing things up and supporting her in that way.

Jarrah Volpe, who dated former Melbourne journalist Julia before their split in 2023, shared with Daily Mail that Julia had previously discussed being attracted to both men and women, and had even dated women before they began their relationship.

Jarrah explained that his partner had previously dated women. They discussed it early in their relationship, but it wasn’t a problem for them.

I wasn’t surprised when she told me she was bisexual; I’d always known. It didn’t change anything between us and didn’t affect our relationship at all.

He quickly denied rumors that Julia was only attracted to women, pointing to their connection as evidence she was also interested in men.

He said he always felt Julia was attracted to him throughout their three-year relationship. He never sensed any doubt about her feelings, simply because he was a man.

Jarrah shared why he wasn’t surprised that Julia’s marriage to Grayson McIvor on television didn’t last.

‘It wasn’t a surprise, because Jules is a really affectionate person. I knew she liked me because she was always touching me, our arms around each other, et cetera. I could see that their closeness and physicality wasn’t there,’ he said.

They just didn’t seem to have a strong connection; there wasn’t much chemistry between them.

Jarrah discussed Julia’s new romance with Sasha Millar, a music teacher she met in Melbourne, and explained why he believed their connection was real.

He described a tender moment between Jules and Sasha, noting that they were embracing and kissing. He said their connection created a lovely atmosphere.

Oh my gosh, she just glows now! You can totally tell she’s happier than ever. It’s amazing to see her with someone who really gets her, someone who helps her grow and feel secure. And Sasha? Sasha is everything. Seriously, they’re so supportive, always there for Jules, always having her back. It’s just… perfect, honestly. I’m so happy for her!

He also mentioned that Julia likely learned a lot about her relationship needs and dealbreakers during her time on Married at First Sight.

He explained that Jules learned a lot from her relationship with Grayson, specifically about understanding her own needs and what she wants in a future partner. It helped her figure out how to build a more fulfilling relationship next time.

Okay, so Jarrah just had to share the one thing about Julia on the show that honestly bummed me out. Like, I was completely invested in their journey, and to hear him say there was something he wished had been different… it just stung a little, you know? I needed to know what it was! It’s like, after everything, that’s what was bothering him?

‘What I was shattered about is that they made her really one-dimensional,’ he said.

‘They kept saying that she was bisexual. They didn’t show her personality, who she actually is. 

Jules is wonderfully unique and genuine. It’s disappointing that the show reduced her character to just her sexuality and didn’t explore her full, interesting personality.

It come after reports that Julia has found love following her split from Grayson. 

The bride from Married at First Sight has started dating someone new – a musician named Sasha from Melbourne – after her difficult experience on the show.

The 35-year-old confirmed she was dating Sasha in a chat with Daily Mail earlier this month. 

And now the identity of the Toorak-based musician has been revealed. 

Sasha, who has many tattoos and dark brown hair, travels around teaching music. She’s skilled at both singing and playing the guitar.

Julia recently told Daily Mail that she’s in a new relationship with a woman and feels happier than ever since finishing the show.
