Good news for fans of Mamma Mia! – both movies are now available on Netflix in the UK! Plus, there’s a promising update about a possible third film. Since Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again came out in 2018, people have been hoping for another installment filled with sunshine, dancing, and more of ABBA’s greatest songs.
Although the movie was a hit with both critics and audiences, plans for a third film haven’t moved forward quickly. However, Donna Langley, chairman of NBCUniversal Entertainment, recently shared encouraging news about its development.
Judy Craymer confirmed at the BAFTA Awards on Sunday, February 22nd, that a third Mamma Mia movie is in the works. She said she and producer Judy Craymer are currently developing a new storyline.

A major question for any potential sequel is whether Meryl Streep would return as Donna Sheridan-Carmichael. Producer Judy Craymer stated that if Streep is interested, they will definitely find a way to include her.
Although Langley believes Meryl Streep might return, Stellan Skarsgård seemed unsure about appearing again as Bill Anderson, explaining that he felt he was now too old for the role.

The Academy Award-nominated actor joked about the possibility of not being able to attend the set, saying, ‘I’m getting on in years, and might not even be alive when filming starts. I might have to appear as ashes in an urn!’
Amanda Seyfried, who plays Sophie in the Mamma Mia! movies, revealed in November that a third film is being considered. She jokingly described the idea as something everyone is very eager to pursue.

I have a strong feeling another Mamma Mia movie is happening, though I might be getting ahead of myself. I really enjoy playing a mother, and I’d love to see Sophie as a mom in the next film.
Just a heads-up for anyone wanting to relive the fun before the new movie drops – the original film from 2008 and the sequel from 2018 just hit Netflix UK, so I can finally watch them again! Perfect timing to get hyped.
Mamma Mia! and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again are streaming on Netflix.
