MAFS UK star Peggy Rose, 33, reveals she only has a 1% chance of conceiving a child after heartbreaking IVF setback

Peggy Rose, a star on Married At First Sight UK, shared some difficult news: she’s been told there’s only a one percent chance of getting pregnant after a recent unsuccessful attempt at IVF treatment.

The 33-year-old reality star has been trying to get pregnant for several months and recently began hormone injections as part of the process.

Peggy became well-known on a show in 2023 when she was paired with Georges Berthonneau, though they broke up soon after the show ended. She is now in a relationship with someone whose identity hasn’t been revealed.

Peggy shared an update on Tuesday about her efforts to get pregnant, following a recent procedure at the hospital to collect eggs.

She explained in a recent post, sharing photos of herself in her dress, that she hadn’t posted an update the day before because it had been an incredibly emotional day.

It was really tough to learn that after all the preparation and the procedure, only one egg was retrieved from my eight follicles. Even more upsetting was not knowing if that single egg was healthy enough to develop. I’m thankful for the chance to try and for the wonderful care I received, but it’s hard to hide my disappointment.

I briefly wondered if I’d made a mistake in sharing what’s been happening, as I wasn’t sure I could explain it without falling apart. But I made a promise to be honest about both the good and the bad, so here’s the difficult truth, hoping it might help someone else.

I really believed we’d get a few viable eggs, considering how many good-looking follicles there were, but this whole process keeps showing me that anything can happen and you can’t predict the outcome.

I’m trying to stay optimistic and hoping the egg develops and gets fertilized. We’ll have results tomorrow, but the waiting is the hardest part – not knowing what will happen is really stressful.

The surgery went really well. It was quick, only about 20 minutes, and I was comfortable the whole time thanks to sedation and oxygen. I didn’t feel any pain during the procedure and only needed paracetamol afterwards. I’m experiencing some pain in my right ovary, which might be because they found twice as many follicles on that side.

The staff were wonderful and offered a nice touch with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a biscuit each morning, even though the day itself wasn’t great.

When I heard the news, all I wanted to do was go home, crawl into bed, and rest, hoping for a positive outcome.

We’re so grateful for all your kind words and support – it truly means the world to us. Things are looking a little uncertain with only one egg left, and the chances seem low – around 1 to 3 percent – but we’re still keeping a positive attitude. ❤️

In 2024, she spoke about wanting to have children, admitting she wasn’t certain if it would be possible. She explained that she previously struggled with anxiety, which often causes her to feel stressed and worried.

I haven’t had a period for five years. Doctors have diagnosed me with secondary hypothalamic amenorrhea, and they believe it’s caused by stress.

I really want to find a partner who also wants children and would be supportive as I go through the process of trying to have them. I recently learned I’ll likely need IVF, which is a bit frightening, and it’s been really upsetting news.

Peggy recently revealed the details of her painful breakup with Georges in 2024, explaining that his success led to a change in his personality.

Once the E4 show ended, Georges ended their brief marriage, leaving Peggy heartbroken.

She then claimed that their relationship went south because Georges became too obsessed with fame.

Peggy explained to The Sun that boys often crave attention, particularly if they haven’t received much of it in the past. She believes this can sometimes make them arrogant.

Honestly, during the show, he shared something that really struck me – he claimed all of his ex-girlfriends have been sexually attracted to him. It’s just… not something you typically hear someone volunteer, is it? As someone who talks about relationships and dynamics all the time, it felt like a really unusual thing to say.

On Valentine’s Day 2024 she went public with evidence that Georges had cheated on her. 

The reality TV personality said someone contacted her with messages, photos, and videos showing Georges on dates with another woman.

She said at the time that cheating is never okay and always comes to light. She was deeply hurt when it happened to her, and she clearly remembers being devastated and crying a lot.

Peggy confessed she felt she’d disappointed her family, who had placed their trust – and even affection – in Georges.

She sadly confessed ‘it was my decision, my mistakes, and I made my bed, so I’ve got to lay in it’.

She has found love again with a new man and he shares the same values as she does. 

I was so charmed when I learned he’s just a really down-to-earth guy, not someone with extravagant wealth. And honestly, it was incredibly sweet to hear he’s also dreaming of starting a family someday. It’s so refreshing to see someone so genuine and with such relatable hopes!

Despite knowing Georges didn’t want children – which is really important to me – I was still open to being with him. I’m just hoping he’s the right person for me, though.

Georges has strongly denied the cheating allegations made against him.

He was angry, insisting he hadn’t been unfaithful. He explained that her behavior – things everyone witnessed on the show, like manipulating him, constantly criticizing him, and making him feel crazy – drove him away. He added that the situation had simply become tiresome.
