MAFS stars Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli announce the birth of their second child and reveal the baby’s unique name

Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have welcomed their second child. 

The popular couple from Married At First Sight shared exciting news on Instagram Monday: they’re expecting another child. They already have a three-year-old son named Lucius.

Alongside sweet images of their newborn, Martha, 36, shared the little girl’s unique name. 

Our daughter has arrived! Maria Brunelli was born on Sunday, two weeks ahead of schedule, and she’s absolutely perfect. We’re completely in love with her, she shared.

Oh my gosh, they finally brought her home! I saw the pictures – Martha and Michael, looking absolutely radiant, pushing the pram with their precious little girl. And then… a photo of their son, so sweet, just cuddling his brand new sister! It completely melted my heart. They’re the perfect family, honestly!

The comments section quickly filled with congratulatory messages, including one from Nadia Bartel, who simply wrote ‘Oh my gosh’ and added several heart emojis.

Oh my gosh, Ella Ding finally acknowledged the birth! She called the baby a ‘perfect little angel,’ and honestly, I nearly screamed! It’s just… everything! Seeing Ella send congratulations just makes this whole moment even more perfect. I’m so happy for them, and Ella’s comment just sealed the deal – it’s official, it’s amazing!

I was scrolling through the comments and saw someone point out a striking resemblance to Lucius – it really made me do a double take! It was lovely to also see fellow ‘Married at First Sight’ star Hayley Vernon sending positive vibes and blessings to the family. It’s always heartwarming to see that kind of support.

Someone congratulated the new parents on the birth of their daughter, Sunday Maria, calling her a ‘little ray of sunshine’ and praising her beautiful name.

Martha had announced her pregnancy in an Instagram post in October. 

At the time, she posted a short video of her toddler son planting a kiss on her growing bump. 

The former reality star, who experienced extreme morning sickness during her first pregnancy, suggested in a recent post that she’s feeling unwell again.

She shared a video and wrote that she’s currently resting after being unexpectedly pregnant, but plans to return with new projects soon, hoping everything goes well.

In 2022, Martha experienced severe morning sickness, called hyperemesis gravidarum, during her pregnancy with her son, Lucius, and needed to be hospitalized at its worst point.

Michael said that for almost the last ten weeks, Martha had been largely confined to bed, experiencing severe dehydration, nausea, vomiting, and difficulty sleeping and eating. She also felt restless, tired, anxious, and extremely fatigued.

Martha disappeared from social media for several months while pregnant because she was severely sick with hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that causes extreme nausea and vomiting.

Martha described feeling incredibly ill, to the point where she couldn’t keep anything down. She was so weak that some days she didn’t even have the energy to get out of bed, and she lost ten kilograms in just five weeks.

‘We have been in and out of the emergency room and hospital,’ she added. 

This comes after Michael shared a heartfelt video about the challenges of being a parent and the stress it’s put on him and Martha.

The trainer shared that being a dad is wonderful, but the last couple of years have been tough.

He admitted he’s been focused on just getting by, putting his own well-being last to take care of his family.

The couple first met on MAFS in 2019 and got engaged two years later, but are yet to marry.
