MAFS star Tracey Jewel reveals the state of her relationship with her reality show ex-husband Dean Wells as she speaks out about ‘anti woke’ groom Tyson Gordon

Tracey Jewel, who appeared on Married At First Sight, has shared her thoughts on Tyson Gordon, a groom who has sparked debate with his views.

The reality TV personality was on the popular Channel Nine show in 2018, and was matched with Dean Wells, 47, who was often portrayed as the show’s antagonist.

Tracey, age 45, explained that watching Tyson search for a ‘submissive wife’ on TV made her think about her own experience on reality television.

She shared an old photo of Tyson on Instagram, writing that she was a much different person when she first appeared on Married At First Sight.

‘I was submissive with low self-worth and was desperate for love to prove I was enough.’

She explained that her relationship on Married at First Sight had a similar pattern, and she admits she wasn’t sure what to expect when she first started.

As some of you may recall, I was paired with the most assertive man on the show – who was portrayed as the ‘villain’ that season. At the time, I didn’t realize what that connection would be like.

Seeing Tyson get married has reminded me of a lot, and now it all makes sense – I finally understand what was happening.

Tracey explained that when someone says they want a “submissive wife,” it’s about control, not love, and she wouldn’t tolerate that now.

She also urged women in similar relationships to speak up.

‘So many women are taught that shrinking is love and that obedience is partnership,’ she said.

‘You are allowed to take up space, to have standards and want equality.’

Tracey concluded her popular post by suggesting that understanding the connection between Tyson and bride Stephanie Marshall could be a positive step towards emotional recovery.

If watching Married at First Sight makes you uncomfortable and reminds you of your own experiences, that’s probably the reason. What we’re really responding to isn’t necessarily what’s happening on the show, but our own personal journey of healing.

Dean immediately responded to the post, mentioning Tracey’s wedding to Nathan Constable in 2021.

Dean wrote that the important thing was finding a good, loyal husband, and that everything turned out okay, finishing with a wink emoji.

After a suitable amount of time had passed, Tracey responded with a clapping hands emoji, indicating she was ready to move forward.

One cheeky fan, however, took a not-so-subtle swipe at Dean’s once fledgling hip-hop career.

A fan questioned Tracey, asking if the other person was as good a rapper as her. Tracey responded with a laughing emoji.

Another added an equally cutting: ‘She had to kiss some swine first.’

In 2018, on season five of Married at First Sight, Tracey ended her relationship with Dean at their vow renewal ceremony, leaving him devastated.

It came after he said he loved her and that he thought that in her he had found ‘the one.’

Tracey broke Dean’s heart when she told him: ‘You don’t deserve me!’

Tracey realized through this experience that while loving someone is important, she also needs to prioritize her own well-being and be more cautious about who she trusts.

Tracey said she simply couldn’t overcome his ‘affair’ with bikini model Davina Rankin.

Dean was stunned and said he’d assumed everything was fine before turning and walking away.

‘I have to be true to myself, too,’ Tracey said.

Tracey has since moved on with husband Nathan Constable, with the pair tying the knot in 2021.

Tracey and her high school sweetheart, Nathan, became parents to their son, Frankie, in March 2021. Tracey also has a daughter, Grace, from a previous relationship with Jacob Anthonisz.

Meanwhile, Dean has moved on with fiancée, Beauty and The Geek star Aimee Woolley.
