Lucy-Jo Hudson makes an exciting baby announcement as she takes to Instagram with partner Lewis Devine and children Sienna, 10, and Carter, 4
As a fellow parent navigating through the labyrinth of responsibilities and expectations, I wholeheartedly empathize with Lucy-Jo’s struggles. Being a working mum is indeed a challenging balancing act that requires superhuman abilities we mere mortals don’t possess!
Actress Lucy-Jo Hudson excitedly announced baby news by posting a collection of adorable photos on Instagram, delighting her followers on a Sunday afternoon.
Actress from Hollyoaks and Coronation Street, aged 41, shared pictures of her latest family addition, her nephew Reuben, on her social media platforms, as she lovingly cradled him in her arms.
Lucy, radiant as a loving aunt, gently held the newborn in her embrace, sitting comfortably on the couch alongside her daughter Sienna and son Carter.
Reuben’s big sister, Esther, was also spotted cuddled on the couch with the family.
She co-parents her daughter with Corrie’s Alan Halsall and shares her son, four, with her current partner Lewis Devine.
In a recent Instagram post, she wrote and shared four photos: “New Family Member! Meet Baby Reuben.”
Complimenting the parents, she said, ‘He’s simply gorgeous! Kudos to you, OliviaDevinex and JoshDaley07. He’s already a reflection of your good qualities, much like his big sister Esther (pictured to the right).’
“Slide to view Sienna doting on the baby, while Carter seems to be fascinated by his ice pop or ‘lolly ice’ as Lewis Devine often refers to it.”
“Reuben’s mom and aunt, Olivia Devine, told Lewis, ‘Oh, he just adored the hugs from everyone! We’re so excited to create more cherished moments together.'”
Enchanted by the charming family, crowds of fans poured in, with one user commenting: ‘What a beautiful family, congratulations!’
‘A wonderful family’.
“Your family photograph is simply delightful! You all look radiant and gorgeous. You are truly beautiful, and I wish you and your family a wonderful Sunday and a fantastic weekend.”
“Wow, what a beautiful, wonderful, and heartwarming photograph of you and your family, Lucy! I hope this moment continues to bring joy to all of you, and I wish you a delightful summer holiday as well. The photo is truly special, capturing the warmth and love within your family.”
In September 2013, Jucy-Jo and her ex-partner, Alan, became parents to a child named Sienna. They had been in a relationship from 2009 until they separated in 2018.
The beauty and her current boyfriend Lewis welcomed their son to the world in 2020.
Her recent, delightful family photos follow closely on the heels of her earlier emotional post, where she disclosed that she had been finding it tough to manage after experiencing a challenging week.
On her Instagram, the actress who portrays Donna-Marie Quinn on the television series Hollyoaks shared an honest post, revealing that she’s experienced numerous restless nights because Carter hasn’t been in perfect health.
In November, it became known that Carter, who is allergic to nuts, had another unexpected health crisis and needed to be taken to the hospital. This incident was described as rather alarming.
Sharing memories of a harrowing incident with her followers, Lucy-Jo posted images showing Carter on a hospital bed, disclosing that he had contracted yet another infection.
Now, she has taken a sincere look back at the hardships of being a mom and acknowledged that Carter’s behavior has been particularly tough over the past while.
She wrote in her caption while sharing both a smiling and a crying photo: ‘This represents me, and so does the other one.’
Instead of typically sharing such content, I find myself compelled to do so now. When I spoke about my challenging week on my stories, a surprising number of people connected with me, expressing their own similar experiences. Truthfully, this week has taken a toll on me; I’ve struggled more than usual.
Over the past period, I’ve been dealing with an overwhelming amount of work and sleepless nights due to Carter not feeling well. This has made him particularly difficult to handle, and though I’ve managed to deal with his behavior for the most part, this week has pushed me to my limits. Simply put, I couldn’t take it anymore.
Raising children is undeniably the most fulfilling occupation, yet it can be incredibly challenging too. Don’t hesitate to shed tears when needed, don’t feel guilty for struggling at times – we’re all human with our own limitations. And navigating modern life as a working mother is no easy feat.
As a busy parent and full-time worker myself, I can attest to the overwhelming pressure of trying to “have it all” – that elusive balance between work, family, self-care, and maintaining a semblance of order in our homes. It’s an exhausting dance, juggling the demands of multiple roles while striving to give our loved ones and social media followers the perfect picture of a well-rounded life.
As someone who has spent years navigating the complexities of modern society, I can’t help but feel a sense of irony when faced with the seemingly impossible expectations that today’s world places upon us. It seems that no matter how hard we strive to meet these demands, they only continue to grow ever higher. Yet, despite the challenges, I find myself compelled to keep pushing forward, driven by a deep-rooted belief in my own capabilities and the potential for growth and change within myself.
These times can be extremely challenging and overwhelming with life moving at such a rapid pace… I simply wanted to express that I understand what you’re experiencing – feeling swamped, exhausted, stretched thin, emotional. It’s okay if you reach a point where you hit a wall and find yourself breaking down. It’s crucial to acknowledge these feelings and give yourself permission to let it all out.
‘So just know you’re not alone… I’m with you… I feel you… and it’s ok to have those down days.’
Back in November, I found myself unexpectedly rushing my close associate, Carter, to the hospital due to another unnerving health crisis – the second such incident he’s experienced. It certainly served as yet another reminder of the importance of maintaining good health and wellness.
She took to Instagram to share her son was absolutely fine during the morning, but suddenly ‘turned within a few hours’.
Sharing a harrowing experience with her followers, she posted pictures of Carter on a hospital bed, informing them that he had contracted another illness.
She wrote: ‘Honest mum post! This was me and carter on Saturday…. Swipe to see what happened within a few hours.
‘How do they go from being absolutely normal to then being in A&E?
He’s completely recovered now, I genuinely feared he might have a urinary tract infection, bless him, but it was actually an infection in another area – poor guy! Thankfully, he’s back to his usual self again, just as unpredictable as any three-year-old can be.
Oh my goodness! Life can be such a rollercoaster, especially when you’re a mom. One moment I’m watching him perform on stage for his Christmas show, and the next, we’re rushing to the emergency room! It’s a wild ride, isn’t it?
‘Please share your experience with me so I know I’m not on my own.’
In July 2023, Carter had another hospitalization as Lucy-Jo sensed a severe health crisis that might prove fatal, prompting her protective actions.
In an emergency, she quickly took Carter to the Ormskirk Hospital located in Lancashire when he was 18 months old because of his severe nut allergy.
On Instagram, Lucy-Jo disclosed that Carter suffered from an anaphylactic shock due to consuming a treat with nut residue.
Lucy Jo remembered that Carter was around one and a half years old. He was seated in the shopping cart, munching on treats as I fetched tea with Sienna. All of a sudden, he turned his gaze towards me, and I immediately sensed that something was very badly amiss.
In simpler terms,
In a rather distressing situation, I carefully secured him into the car seat, although it was difficult due to his frequent fading consciousness and his skin turning patchy. Given these circumstances, I couldn’t comfortably cradle him as I urgently needed to drive to the Emergency Room.
10 minutes passed by, yet it seemed an eternity. As I drove, my loyal companion Sienna whimpered from the back, her distressing cries echoing concerns about her own mortality.
Lucy-Jo always takes Carter’s emergency epinephrine injector with her, wherever she goes, as it helps control severe allergic reactions. She also needs to alert every restaurant about Carter’s nut allergy and carefully check the labels on all food items before consuming them.
