Lucinda Strafford’s mother is very upset with ITV, claiming the show ‘Love Island: All Stars’ showed ‘disgusting scenes’ that harmed her daughter.
The 26-year-old influencer sparked outrage from both a fellow contestant, Belle Hassan, and Love Island fans this week during her fourth appearance on the dating show.
While Belle was away at Casa USA for three days, Lucinda formed a connection with Sean Stone, who is currently Belle’s partner.
Lucinda asked Belle to stop giving her such a dismissive look, and Belle reacted angrily, accusing both Lucinda and Sean of being disrespectful.
Belle called Lucinda deceitful and then became very upset, prompting the other girls in the villa to comfort her.
Lucinda’s mother, Nancy, has strongly criticized the show’s producers, saying they ‘should be ashamed,’ and called the All Stars cast ‘horrid’.
Nancy reacted to a TikTok video discussing the dramatic TV episode, calling it ‘disgusting’.
The production team’s actions were unacceptable and Lucinda didn’t deserve to be treated that way. It was a truly unpleasant situation, and I hope she leaves. As for those criticizing her, it’s disappointing to see such negativity.
She also expressed strong disapproval, saying she was ‘disgusted’ that a television show would allow someone to be treated so poorly in front of a large audience, seemingly without any concern for the individual’s well-being.
On Tuesday’s episode, Nancy will have to witness an upsetting scene: Sean kissing Belle, which will make Lucinda very angry.
Lucinda’s father, Stephen, and her brothers—Euan, Rory, and Fraser—have also been vocal in their public support for her.
Since the episode aired, Lucinda has received a wave of hate and nasty messages on social media.
The team managing Lucinda’s social media accounts released a statement following the latest episode of Love Island. It reminded viewers that the show is a television program focused on forming relationships and staying authentic – and that’s what Lucinda is doing.
The negativity she’s facing is completely unacceptable. It’s important to remember she’ll be seeing these comments when she leaves the show, and so will her loved ones. Let’s be mindful of the impact our words have.
Honestly, it just kills me to see anyone being awful online. Words really matter, and seeing negativity directed at Lucinda – or anyone, really – is just heartbreaking. I mean, can’t we all just be a little kinder? It’s so important. I just want everyone to remember that, especially when it comes to Lucinda, but truly, to everyone.
ITV provides extensive support for Love Island: All Stars contestants, covering everything from before filming begins, throughout their time on the show, and after they leave. This care is overseen by experienced doctors and mental health experts.
Oh my gosh, Lucinda! I’ve been following her forever! It feels like ages ago when she first showed up on the show back in 2021, season seven, and I totally lost it. Then, can you believe it, she went on the Australian version just two years later?! I was ecstatic! And then last October, she was on Love Island Games! Seriously, she’s just always there, and I’m absolutely living for it. She’s become such a constant, I can’t imagine the show without her now!
Winning the series earned her half of the $250,000 prize, which she shared with her partner, Isaiah Campbell.
But she has caused a stir by returning to Love Island for a fourth time.
Last week’s surprising recoupling meant she had to choose a partner only a day after joining the show. She picked Ciaran Davies from Wales, which complicated his growing connection with Samie Elishi.
Samie thought she and Lucinda were friends, especially since Samie had been on ‘Love Island’ twice before. She was surprised Lucinda didn’t seem to value their supposed friendship. However, Lucinda said they hadn’t talked for nearly a year.
Samie claims they’d connected on social media, and you can verify this by looking back through their posts.
Lucinda mentioned she hadn’t received an invitation to Samie’s fragrance launch party. Samie immediately pointed out that Lucinda wasn’t even in the country at the time.
We now know Lucinda was in the United States and therefore couldn’t have been at the event.
Samie isn’t the first Islander to have issues with Lucinda. She previously had a falling out with close friends Millie Court and Chloe Burrows during the 2021 season of Love Island.
The drama began when Lucinda told Chloe’s boyfriend, Toby, that Chloe had reportedly been unfaithful.
Lucinda took Toby’s side while Millie remained ‘Team Chloe’, which put an end to the iconic trio.
It looks like Lucinda and Harriet Blackmore from Love Island season 11 are no longer on good terms. They recently stopped following each other on social media after previously sharing posts together. Matilda Draper, a close friend of Harriet’s from the show, publicly called Lucinda ‘weirdo’ because of how she acted towards Samie during the recent All Stars episodes.
The Daily Mail has contacted ITV for comment.
