If successful, the new film based on Wuthering Heights would be Jacob’s highest-grossing film at the start of its release, and Margot’s first major hit following the success of Barbie in 2023.
The marketing for Barbie, which starred Margot Robbie as Barbie and featured Emerald Fennell in a supporting role as Midge, cost a staggering $150 million.
The Barbie movie’s marketing campaign was massive, encompassing everything from a vibrant, highly visible pink Barbie DreamHouse available to rent on Airbnb, to a four-part special on HGTV. Over 100 fashion and lifestyle brands also participated, capitalizing on the movie’s popularity.
Wuthering Heights will go on general release from February 13.
