As someone who has lived through the turbulent world of modeling and faced my own struggles with body image and health issues, I wholeheartedly agree with Lottie Moss’s stand against the ‘heroin chic’ aesthetic. The trend may have made her sister famous, but it’s a relic from the past that we should not be resurrecting.

Lottie Moss criticized the ‘heroin-like’ appearance popularized by her renowned model sibling, often referred to as ‘heroin chic’.

In more contemporary times, the ’90s style that catapulted Kate Moss to fame – characterized by pale complexion, sleek hairstyles, and notably, a very slender figure – has experienced a resurgence.

Yet Lottie – who has just resolved a three-year feud with her sibling-  revealed it’s not a trend she’d be embracing as she called out for more ‘body positivity‘.

On her Dream On podcast, the 26-year-old model expressed thoughts about the return of the “heroin chic” style, a trend from the ’90s: “It’s not wise for us to revisit that era.

‘This should not be a trend right now… Where did the body positivity go?’

At the 4th and Reckless fashion show on Thursday, Lottie, who appeared cheerful and vibrant, remarked, “I just can’t wrap my head around it as we seemed to be thriving.

As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but reflect on the fascinating evolution of beauty standards. Once upon a time, the allure of a more voluptuous figure was becoming increasingly popular and sexy. Yet, it seems we’ve taken a step back in time to an era where ‘heroin chic’ reigns supreme – emaciated bodies, minimal food intake, and extreme thinness being the epitome of beauty. It’s truly intriguing how these trends ebb and flow over the years.

‘And obviously if that’s your body type and you are naturally very thin then this excludes you.

Instead, find contentment in your current weight and appreciate the fact that your body is healthy and functional. Rather than subjecting it to such stressful activities, let’s focus on maintaining its well-being.

‘It can be so detrimental to your body in the future.’

Following Kate’s disclosure about the harassment she faced due to her appearance, being accused of encouraging eating disorders by people encountering her on the street, Lottie responded with her comments.

She told a new Disney+ documentary: ‘Parents would come up to me and say, “My daughter’s anorexic”. It was awful.

‘My slim build caught people off guard, as they weren’t accustomed to seeing someone like me. However, had I been curvier, perhaps it wouldn’t have been as noteworthy. The thing is, my physique differed significantly from the models who preceded me.’

In another part of the conversation, it was disclosed that Lottie needed hospitalization due to an Ozempic overdose.

At approximately 60 kilograms, or roughly 9 stone, the individual experienced a violent illness, including a seizure and severe dehydration, following consumption of the drug.

She said she would rather ‘die’ than use Ozempic again, which is meant to treat the obese or diabetics and has suffered global shortages.

As a steadfast adherent, I can’t forget the harrowing ordeal I encountered when I had a seizure, triggered by an alarmingly severe case of dehydration. Among all the challenging experiences I’ve faced, the moment my facial muscles stiffened and my hands clenched up was undoubtedly one of the most terrifying I’ve lived through.

She said there were, ‘small things I wish I’d known before taking it’ and revealed her weight plummeted to around 53kg in a few weeks.

Following consultations with healthcare providers, Lottie discovered that the dose of Ozempic she had been administering via injection in her leg was typically recommended for individuals weighing around 220 pounds (100 kg), more than twice her current weight.

A while back, I wasn’t content with my weight, and fortunately, I had a friend who could help me with that issue.

The situation seemed shady, originating from a medical professional, but it wasn’t the typical scenario where you visit a doctor’s office, receive a prescription for Ozempic, have your blood pressure checked, and undergo tests – all standard procedures when starting such medication.

In essence, it’s important to remember that this substance is a medication, and it carries significant risks. It’s primarily designed for individuals who are extremely overweight.

In other words, the dosage I was consuming was intended for individuals weighing more than 100 kg, but I weigh around 50 kg.

Lottie went on saying, “I now realize there were tiny details I should have been aware of beforehand regarding this. However, I proceeded, and I had to inject it into my leg. It turns out to be the biggest mistake I’ve ever made.

‘I’m advising everyone against consuming this. If you’re considering doing so, I strongly suggest you reconsider, as it’s simply not worth the risk.’

The well-known OnlyFans personality detailed the intense adverse reactions she experienced after consuming the medication, including bouts of vomiting, paleness due to loss of facial coloration, and a significant decrease in her body weight.

Lottie mentioned that she used to weigh around 132 pounds, but after her initial dose, she lowered to 125 pounds. Her weight went even lower to 114 pounds, which is slightly more than seven and a half stones.
