Lottie Moss reveals she’s suffered a ‘mental breakdown’ over career and money – a year after ditching £70k-a-month OnlyFans

Lottie Moss shared that she experienced a mental health crisis this week, brought on by difficulties with her work and finances.

The 28-year-old model shared a video on TikTok Tuesday, honestly admitting she’s feeling overwhelmed and at her limit just one month into the new year.

In a recent video, Kate Moss’s half-sister, 52, explained she’s completely overwhelmed and reached her breaking point. She described feeling like she’s been pushed too far and can’t handle any more stress.

This year has been incredibly difficult so far. We’re only a month in, and things haven’t improved at all. While I’ve started seeing someone new, which is a positive, I completely fell apart today due to issues with my job and finances.

Lottie recently shared this news after leaving her successful OnlyFans career in February of last year. She was said to have been making between £30,000 and £70,000 each month before deciding to focus on new projects.

This is the first time she’s publicly talked about her boyfriend, after hinting at the relationship last week with a casual photo of them at the gym on Instagram.

In the picture, Lottie is posing in front of a mirror with a man embracing her from behind. She covered his face with a white heart emoji to protect his privacy.

She jokingly dismissed the idea of it being the ‘Year of the Horse,’ referencing the Chinese zodiac sign associated with fast advancement. She then pointed out that the year actually begins on February 17th, and hasn’t arrived yet, before questioning what’s happening with everything.

The model shared that she started the new year with a lot of optimism, hoping for a significant improvement after what she described as a very difficult previous year – the worst of her life. She felt confident that things were about to turn around for her and that this year would be much better.

She said, impatiently, ‘I’m really waiting here, and I’m trying to figure out what’s worth paying attention to.’

In late 2024, Lottie shared that she intended to leave OnlyFans, explaining she wanted to dedicate more time to her podcast and television career.

She explained that she plans to leave OnlyFans eventually, but not due to external pressure. She feels she’s simply maturing and moving on to other things, stating she’ll stop when she feels ready.

She decided to leave the adult subscription platform because it had caused a lot of conflict with her family, especially her mother, Inger, and sister, Kate.

Lottie shared that moving back to the UK caused her to drift apart from many friends she’d made in the modeling world. She also revealed her mother stopped talking to her for several weeks, and the whole situation caused a lot of family conflict.

After relocating to Los Angeles in 2021, Lottie started creating content on OnlyFans. She felt the platform allowed her more artistic control compared to her previous work in traditional modelling.

She made as much as £70,000 a month from her OnlyFans subscribers at her most successful point, but eventually earned around £30,000 each month.

Despite the positive change, she lost her contract with Storm Management and received criticism from people within the fashion world.

She explained on Jamie Laing’s podcast that she’s moved away from traditional modeling because she’s now focusing on nude photography. She feels it’s unfortunate the industry isn’t more accepting of this type of work.

The model has openly discussed her challenges with mental health, addiction, and the difficulties of being known as a sibling to a famous person.

In February 2022, she sought treatment for cocaine addiction and depression, and later called it the most positive step she could have taken for her well-being.

I went through a really tough time, honestly. I was incredibly down and unhappy, to the point where just getting out of bed felt impossible. There was a moment where I truly felt like I couldn’t keep going, like I’d reached my limit.

Lottie shared that when she started modeling at age 13, she felt a lot of pressure to be like Kate in how she looked and lived her life.

She shared that early in her career, she constantly felt she was being measured against another woman, and people seemed to want her to be just like her.

I felt pressured to emulate her, both in appearance and lifestyle, and briefly experimented with that kind of partying. That’s how people maintained a thin physique at the time – through a fast-paced, social life.

In 2024, the model required hospital treatment after experiencing seizures and severe dehydration from using Ozempic, a weight-loss drug, in an effort to conform to beauty industry expectations.
