Lorna Luxe gave fans a hair update on Friday while at her salon, following her earlier announcement that she has androgenetic alopecia.
The 43-year-old influencer, who has previously shared her challenges with hair loss, posted a video showing off her improved hair density to her followers. She told her hairdresser she was thrilled with the results.
She proudly displayed her progress, saying, ‘I’m really happy with how thick and healthy this new growth is. It feels like all my effort has paid off, and I’ve been doing things the right way.’
She explained that touching her hair made it feel noticeably thicker in certain areas.
She shared a video and explained that dealing with androgenic alopecia is a complex process with many contributing factors. However, she’s very happy to see significant improvement in the thickness of her hair at the roots.
Androgenetic alopecia, often called pattern baldness, is a widespread type of hair loss that runs in families. It’s caused by a combination of genes and male hormones, especially one called DHT.
According to Alopecia UK, this condition causes hair follicles to gradually shrink. In men, this typically results in a receding hairline and thinning on the top of the head, while women usually experience overall thinning on the crown.
Last year, Lorna opened up to HELLO! about overcoming her hair struggles in her 40s.
The 43-year-old shared that for many years, she didn’t pay much attention to her hair and was actually ashamed of it. She said this continued until about five years ago.
I’ve been dealing with androgenic alopecia – basically, slow, steady hair loss – for a while now. Instead of trying to really care for the hair I still had, I found it easier to just put it up and pretend it wasn’t happening.
She explained that having time during lockdown allowed her to finally address her hair issues. She started by seeing a trichologist, and that’s when her journey to healthier hair really began.
Lorna also mentioned she’s started taking supplements regularly and has already seen positive results.
She also recommended her £35 Hydra Bond Hydrating Masque, saying she uses it often to maintain healthy, strong hair.
The product was created as part of her minimalist brand, 98 Beauty.
Oh my gosh, Lorna revealed that her hair struggles actually started when she was in her twenties! Can you believe it? She says she’s been working so hard ever since, basically going above and beyond to get her hair healthy again. It’s amazing how dedicated she is, honestly!
She strongly recommended using hair masks regularly, emphasizing that keeping hair hydrated is essential for maintaining its strength and health at all ages.
This news follows Lorna’s recent statement that she’s much happier in her new £2 million rental home, after having to suddenly move out of her previous home.
The influencer shared a home with her late husband, John, in the well-known £2.5 million Ghost House. However, they were forced to move out last year due to flooding.
John and Lorna purchased the property in 2023, and were thrilled to plan renovations, specifically redesigning the bathrooms to have separate spaces for him and her. Sadly, John passed away before they had the chance to move back and begin the project.
Lorna’s new, simply designed home was created by the same architects, BPN Architects, who previously designed her and her partner’s larger house in Warwickshire.
The influencer has shown off the modern home on social media with glass walls and chic furnishings.
Lorna shared on Instagram that she’s much happier in her new home, saying the abundance of light is significantly improving her mood.
Lorna said the relocation was difficult and caused her stress, but she’s now very happy with how things turned out.
John would have really liked this place – he always loved this house. It has a similar style to our Ghost House, as it was designed by the same architect, and that gives it a wonderful atmosphere.
After a several-year fight with advanced adrenal cancer, the former banker passed away in February while being held by his wife, Lorna.
The couple had already left their £2.5 million house in 2025 for major remodeling, and now Lorna is having to move out again for further work.
She shared on Instagram last week that her late husband would be proud of her. She explained she’d put all her belongings into storage, which she admitted was a little unsettling, jokingly referring to it as ‘disorientating for Kev-bear’.
We arrived with just the essentials – clothes, a corkscrew, and a kettle. Having to leave our last home unexpectedly was stressful, but I know John would be proud of me for managing it and finding a great new place for Bear and me to live, even if it’s only temporary.
