After spending a lot of time with dark fantasy games about the end of the world, it’s easy for them to start looking similar. Recently, when CI Games and Hexworks showed off a new enemy called the Crescent Host from their upcoming game, Lords of the Fallen 2, some people accused them of copying designs from FromSoftware’s games.
People noticed a similarity between a character in the game and the Wylder from Elden Ring Nightreign, especially when looking at it closely. However, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski responded by stating the character’s armor was designed in July 2024 – well before Nightreign was announced.
Tyminski responded to accusations of plagiarism on Twitter, stating they are completely untrue. They explained the feature in question was actually built into their game engine by October 2024 – before FromSoftware’s similar game was even announced. Tyminski suggests the resemblance is just a coincidence, given both companies work with fantasy themes.

A key feature highlighted was the ability to brutally dismember opponents, with strategist Ryan Hill confirming players can remove all of an enemy’s limbs. You can find more information here.
I’m happy to show that the claims of plagiarism made yesterday are completely untrue. The accusation was that a new enemy design copied a character named Wylder from Nightreign. However, this armor was finalized on July 17, 2024 – more than five months before Nightreign was even announced – and the completed model…
