Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan brutally brands co-star Christine Lampard ‘ugly’ and swipes ‘are you still talking?!’ as fiery debate about looks turns personal
As a lifestyle expert with extensive years of observing human interactions and understanding the intricacies of relationships, I must say that the playful banter between Coleen Nolan and Christine Lampard during Loose Women is a testament to their long-standing friendship and mutual respect. The incident serves as an example of how friendships can sometimes be heated but ultimately strengthen bonds through shared laughter and understanding.
On Tuesday’s episode of ITV’s Loose Women, Coleen Nolan playfully teased her fellow panelist Christine Lampard, humorously referring to her as “not so beautiful.”
In the discussion, the 59-year-old media personality rejoined Kelly Holmes, Christine Lampard, and Brenda Edwards on the panel to delve into several popular current issues.
Nevertheless, the discussion became quite intense as it evolved into a highly personal argument regarding whether people who are considered more attractive tend to have longer lifespans.
Christine began the segment by sharing that research indicates people considered attractive may live longer than those perceived as less attractive.
The 45-year-old host made a comment about women being less attractive, which was not well-received by Coleen, as the camera continuously focused on her.
Indignant and clearly upset, the panel member gasped audibly and raised her arms in disbelief, aiming her reaction towards the camera.
Grimacing at Christine, who burst into laughter, Coleen asked: ‘Are you pressing that button?’
Christine and the studio audience all burst out laughing, leaving Colleen feeling more and more agitated.
Christine said, “There are many traditionally attractive individuals who can be rather uninteresting,” to which her colleague retorted sharply, “Are you still going on about this? I find it quite dull.” She mimicked yawning and made snoring noises as if falling asleep.
When inquired about her opinion, Coleen appeared unenthusiastic as she responded: ‘As for what I think, honestly, not much.’
Nevertheless, she shared her thoughts, saying, “I believe that beauty is subjective.”
In my experience, I’ve spent time with some individuals who appeared rather questionable, yet their humor was contagious. Consequently, their overall personality, which includes being attractive due to their charm, becomes more appealing.
In an attempt to re-engage in the discussion, I found myself nodding in agreement, saying, “You make a valid point.” However, Colleen promptly escalated our friendly banter by poking fun and saying, “Well, if it’s not ugly, feel free to continue.”
Instead, the program shifted towards a more emotional direction when they brought on Big Brother legend Nadia Almada for an interview.
In 2004, a 47-year-old celebrity from reality television earned the title of champion in season five, making history as the initial transgender individual to appear as a main contestant on the Channel 4 show.
Twenty years following her groundbreaking victory, Nadia shared insights with the group on her personal growth and the experiences she’s had since then.
In 2004, a Portuguese hairdresser garnered acclaim for standing as a representative for the transgender community.
During the interview, ITV showed various photos of Nadia from her Big Brother days, which appeared to cause her to become emotional as they were shown on the screen.
She struggled to hold back her tears as she expressed, “Upon seeing these photos, I feel deeply compelled to sincerely apologize to her for my past actions of body shaming, reducing her to an object, and treating her unfairly.”
‘Somehow along the line I compartmentalised that young lady for not being your standard.
In truth, I’m essentially conversing with myself here. I must express my regret for my actions towards Nadia. The incident happened during a significant moment, and I should not have made her feel as though she belonged in a storage area like the attic or the basement.
Pondering over time, I realized that it’s the product of maturity and life experiences. After two decades, I am learning to harness a newfound strength within myself. I am accepting this change and I find myself feeling stronger because of it.
