Lokapala Beginners Guide and Tips
As a seasoned MOBA enthusiast who has traversed countless virtual realms, I must say that my recent foray into the mystical land of Ksatriyas through Lokapala has been nothing short of exhilarating! The unique game mechanics, the vibrant characters, and the intricate lore have left me utterly captivated.
Tale of the Six Realms: A Fresh MOBA Experience
Gameplay Overview
Just like in many other Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games I play, Lokapala has me picking a unique character with specific abilities. In this game, we’re divided into two teams of five and it’s a fierce battle between us. Our goal is to protect our towers while going on the offensive against the enemy’s, with the ultimate objective being to demolish their base. It’s all about strategy, teamwork, and outsmarting the opponents!
Understanding the in-game Map
In a game like Lokapala, the map plays a crucial role. It assists us in comprehending various objectives and their locations, as well as predicting where the opposing team might be positioned. The significant zones on the map include the “Routes” or “Paths” (Lanes), the “Wilderness” or “Forest” (Jungle), and the “Home” or “HQ” (Base).
Base: This is from where the game starts and where the main tower is located. Destroying the enemy’s main tower will win the game.
Just like other MOBA games, Lokapala also has three lanes:
- Top Lane: The top lane is typically for Tanks and Fighters who can fight and sustain in early games, also this lane is the longest.
- Middle Lane: This lane has the most head-to-head mid-range combat as Mage players usually take this lane. It’s crucial for rotating and controlling the map and later the whole game.
- Bottom Lane: This lane is usually taken by Marksmen and sometimes accompanied by a Support character.
In the heart of the gaming arena, a dense jungle sprawls between the lanes, teeming with creatures that grant gold and experience upon being vanquished. These neutral beasts retaliate against anyone who dares to strike first. As for me, a gamer in this virtual world, these jungle monsters offer only fleeting health regeneration during my quest.
Introducing the Lokapala Heroes (Ksatriyas)
In the game Lokapala, each character boasts a distinct collection of abilities and power, along with their specific backstory. For simplicity, we group these Ksatriyas into roles such as Tank, Support, Fighter, Ranged Attacker, Assassin, and Mage.
Ksatriyas Roles and Playstyle
- Tank: High on defense and HP compared to other roles. They are built to take damage and initiate fights.
- Fighter: Deals physical damage and can be both tanky and damage-oriented.
- Mage: Deals magical damage with area-of-effect abilities.
- Assassin: High burst damage, excels in eliminating key targets.
- Support: Provides buffs or healing and support to the team.
- Marksman: Deals high physical damage with basic attacks, and excels in late game.
Best Ksatriyas for Beginners in Lokapala
As a fellow enthusiast embarking on the journey of Lokapala, I’d suggest starting with some easier Ksatriyas for beginners like myself. Gradually work your way up to more challenging heroes as you gain experience. Here are my initial picks:
1. Haya
Haya, known as “The Unfulfilled Dreamer,” embodies the spirit of a valiant warrior, or Fighter Ksatriya. His visage exudes an air of dread and terror that players will find unsettling. The character’s design is imposing and fierce, boasting exceptional abilities and a hidden strength to assert dominance passively.
2. Tarja
Tarja, also known as “Queen of Wilwatikta,” serves as a Mage Ksatriya. Her design exudes elegance, boasting impressive mid-to-long-range abilities and a passive trait that aids in debilitating the opposing target.
3. Ilya
Ilya, also known as “The Divine Weapon,” is a robust and powerful character, much like a Tank Ksatriya. She exhibits immense strength and resilience, positioning herself effectively as a frontline force capable of soaking up damage and fracturing enemy formations. Her skillset harmoniously combines crowd control and damage output, with a passive ability that temporarily stuns enemies.
4. Sena
Sena, also known as “The Prosperous Human“, represents the Maskman Ksatriya class. She’s an ideal pick for those preferring to maintain distance and deal substantial damage. Her abilities are primarily long-range, making her a valuable asset for us gamers.
5. Sabara
As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but express my admiration for Sabara, or “Soul Keeper,” who gracefully embodies the role of an Assassin Ksatriya. Renowned for his extraordinary burst damage and nimbleness, he’s the perfect pick for those seeking swift and decisive victories. His abilities not only deal massive damage but also weaken opponents, making them easier to dispatch.
Understanding other in-game Lokapala Features: Lingam and Mantra
Vahanamukha
It’ll function as a transport, providing you with a quick acceleration, thus enabling us, the players, to swiftly move towards the action.
Lingam
As a gamer, I find that utilizing the various buffs provided by the Lingams in Lokapala significantly boosts my Ksatriya’s strength in combat. There are eight unique types of Lingams to discover and harness their power!
- Kavaca Shakti: Gives a shield that regenerates after a certain duration after reduction.
- Avici Shakti: Adds Ksatriya attack modifier that applies a burning effect on every hit.
- Bhaudara Shakti: Grants an aura that increases the movement speed and Prana regen of its user and 2 nearby ally units.
- Pasha Shakti: Gives Ksatriya the ability to slow movement and attack the speed of the enemy.
- Vasu Shakti: Heals self and ally units within the surrounding area.
- Netra Shakti: Opens map visibility and reveals all hidden enemies.
- Vata Shakti: Teleports you to the designated spot.
- Hesa Shakti: Resets the cooldown of all mantra spells.
Significant Jungle Monsters
1. Raksatriya
In the nooks of less-traveled roads, you can discover this beast. Overcoming it offers you a metamorphosis into Raksatriya, providing you with fresh abilities to utilize temporarily.
2. Mega Ancient
At the quarter-hour point in the game, the towers explode automatically, and the primary cannon calls forth a Mega Ancient to fight alongside the team.
Mantra
As a seasoned gamer with countless hours spent leveling up characters and mastering various skills, I can confidently say that these spells are more than just mere magic tricks; they are game-changers. They provide an extra skill to your character, adding an exciting layer of strategy and versatility to gameplay. The additional advantages granted by these spells make the difference between a mediocre player and a true master, enriching the gaming experience in ways that simple level-ups can’t match.
- Ebullience: Gains Attack Speed and Attack Damage bonus for Ksatriya.
- Flaneur: Deals damage to Minion/Jungle Monster. Upon eliminating Minion/Jungle Monster, restores Ksatriya’s HP from Minion/Jungle Monster’s maximum HP.
- Fortress: Gains shield that blocks damage to Ksatriya and one nearby ally.
- Orenda: Restores HP and Prana to Ksatriya and all nearby allies.
- Vamoose: Teleport to a short distance from the Ksatriya.
- Infernal: Gives Magic Damage and stun effect to all nearby enemy Ksatriya and Minions from a certain distance.
- Ocular: Places a radar to scout the surrounding area. Has the ability to see the enemy (including the invisible ones) and/or the enemy’s radar placed within the range.
- Imprint: Track an enemy and make the enemy visible. Eliminating the tracked enemy grants bonus Gold to each executor and mantra-caster.
- Flummoxed: Silence an enemy, disabling the use of Skills and Mantra.
- Retrieve: Teleports back to the Svaka after channeling for a few seconds. Channeling’s canceled if Ksatriya gets damaged or moved.
