Lisa Rinna slammed Andy Cohen over sharing her private text messages in one of his books.
During an interview on SiriusXM’s The Julia Cunningham Show on Tuesday, 62-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed how things are going with her friend, the Bravo personality. She recently turned heads at Paris Fashion Week with noticeably fuller lips.
She’s preparing to release her memoir, titled ‘You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It,’ on February 24th.
Rinna said she was doing okay with him today, and also clarified that she hadn’t contacted Andy Cohen before writing her memoir.
He’s an author and has pursued his own career. But I believe he actually included my private text messages in one of his books.
Okay, so apparently, Cohen told Lisa Rinna she’d be in his book! I mean, can you believe it? He let her know something was coming, though he didn’t spill all the details, which, honestly, is just classic Cohen, playing it mysterious. I’m dying to know what he said, and what exactly she knew was coming her way! It’s all so fascinating!
‘Well, I had an idea,’ the TV personality explained. ‘But then when I read it and they were personal text messages to basically my boss.
Seeing them appear in the book was a huge surprise! I don’t want to spoil anything, but you definitely need to read it to find out what happened. I won’t reveal any details!
Although Rinna didn’t mention the book when they were talking, Cohen appeared to include their private conversation in his 2023 book, The Daddy Diaries: The Year I Grew Up.
He’s also written a couple of other books, including The Andy Cohen Diaries: A Deep Look At A Shallow Star (2014) and Glitter Every Day: 365 Quotes From Women I Love (2021).
Rinna and Cohen have had a complicated relationship with frequent disagreements, especially during her eight seasons on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills before she left the show in 2023.
According to Bravo, the two had a warm interaction on the red carpet at last August’s Las Culturistas Culture Awards.
She had previously been on Cohen’s radio show and offered an apology for her comment comparing The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills to the Titanic.
‘I put my foot in my mouth. It’s not that. That show’s gonna go on and on and on. I misused my words,’ she explained at the time.
She quickly clarified, ‘I meant to say Titanic, and I did say it—I apologize if I upset anyone. Let’s just continue now.’
Cohen responded by pointing out that Rinna was no longer on “The Real Housewives,” but acknowledged her apology felt like something from the show’s earlier seasons. Rinna then stated she didn’t regret her actions.
She quickly remembered a conversation she had with her husband, Harry Hamlin, on their podcast, ‘Let’s Not Talk About The Husband’.
I slipped into a familiar pattern – acting like a traditional housewife dependent on a powerful man. It’s a role I think I played for eight years, essentially giving control of my image and career to Andy Cohen, who is my boss.
Rinna explained that she immediately fell back into a familiar pattern, describing it as feeling like a child reverting to a well-established role within her family.
Since leaving The Real Housewives, the reality star has stayed active, even walking in Paris Fashion Week.
Last September, Rinna revealed she was writing a memoir titled You Better Believe I’m Gonna Talk About It.
She shared the book cover on Instagram and announced, ‘The vault is open! February 24th. You can pre-order now!’
Rinna hinted to People magazine last year that her upcoming book would reveal some surprising truths, saying she was ready to share everything, even if others weren’t ready to hear it.
Life is full of highs and lows, and we often forget details as time passes. I finally decided it was time to share the complete, unedited version of my story.
The TV star shared that they poured their heart and soul – the highs, lows, and everything in between – into their new book. They expressed immense satisfaction with the finished product, saying, ‘It’s like I’m finally revealing everything!’
In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, Rinna briefly discussed her decision to write about Andy Cohen in her memoir.
She revealed to the outlet that ‘he doesn’t quite know what’s in this book yet. That’s scary!
You know, I always said if I ever wrote another book, it had to be truly honest. And it has been a journey – honestly, two years in the making! I’ve really grown and changed a lot since I first started writing, so this book reflects where I am now.
Rinna also discussed the reasoning behind her decision to pen a book.
More than anything, I just want to share my perspective. I’m past the age where I’m interested in getting even with anyone.
The star added that RHOBH ‘never showed me for who I really am. And I had a bone to pick with that.
I’m publishing this book to tell my story, completely in my own words, without anyone else changing it. And I want to be clear – I’m being completely honest and holding nothing back.
Rinna was recently on season four of the reality show The Traitors, but she was eliminated after being on the show for seven episodes.
