LINE, the company formerly known as LY Corporation, has announced it will close its mobile game, LINE: Gundam Wars, on June 30, 2026. Developed with BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment, the game launched in the summer of 2016 and will end service just before its 10-year anniversary.

Devs didn’t reveal the exact reason behind the sudden service termination

LINE: Gundam Wars is a fast-paced strategy game where you create teams of mobile suits and pilots from the classic Gundam anime. You’ll then battle against opponents in automatic, offensive and defensive matches.

We regret to inform you that the game LINE: Gundam Wars will be discontinued on June 30, 2026, at 3:00 PM (JST). Thank you for your continued support and patronage.

I was really bummed to see the LINE: Gundam Wars team announce on X (Twitter) that the game is shutting down on June 30, 2026, in Japan. They did say they’re super grateful for all our support, which is nice, but it’s frustrating that they didn’t explain why they’re ending the game. I wish they’d at least told us the reason!

You can play until EOS and enjoy all the bonus rewards

After the recent announcement, the game has stopped all in-app purchases, like Diamonds and the Premium Login Bonus. You can still play and enjoy the game until it shuts down. As a thank you, the developers are holding special events and offering rewards, such as a login bonus.

It’s especially disappointing because the game was almost at its 10-year anniversary, making this news particularly tough. Fans are understandably upset, with many sharing fond memories – some recall it being “an insanely fun game” as casual players, while others are simply expressing their gratitude for the past decade.
