Lindsie Chrisley arrested on DUI charge after allegedly swerving around another car, speeding

Lindsie Chrisley, daughter of reality TV star Todd Chrisley, was arrested Saturday night in Georgia on suspicion of drunk driving.

I was shocked to read the police report – apparently, the podcaster was facing some serious charges. It wasn’t just a regular DUI, but one where her blood alcohol level was under the usual limit, but still considered unsafe. On top of that, she was accused of trying to get away from the police, dangerous driving – including improper passing and speeding – and just generally reckless behavior. Her bail ended up being almost $6,000, which is a lot! It’s really disheartening to hear about this, especially from someone I enjoy listening to.

Chrisley explained to TMZ that she was pulled over for speeding after nearly colliding with a car that had swerved to avoid an animal. She was attempting to steer clear of both the car and the animal, and intends to contest the charges against her.

According to the police report, officers stopped Todd Chrisley after he was seen driving 86 mph on a local street. The report claims that after the officer turned on his lights, Chrisley didn’t pull over immediately, but instead drove past several safe places to stop before finally pulling into a Chevron gas station.

According to the sheriff’s deputy’s report, Chrisley’s statements were inconsistent, and she spoke with difficulty, smelling of alcohol. After being asked to exit her Ford Bronco, she initially claimed she didn’t know why she’d been stopped, then explained she’d swerved to avoid a vehicle that nearly hit a deer. When asked about speeding, she insisted that was the reason, and then described another car slowing down in front of her, claiming she wasn’t driving nearly 90 mph as reported.

According to the report, the woman didn’t cooperate with the deputy’s requests for field sobriety and blood tests. A search of the vehicle didn’t reveal any illegal items.

Chrisley, 36, was released from custody around 4:15 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to People magazine, this incident involving law enforcement happened after her boyfriend, David Landsman, was arrested in Cherokee County in April. He was charged with aggravated assault/strangulation (a felony) and battery (a misdemeanor) after allegedly choking someone and preventing them from leaving.

Lindsie Chrisley, who hosts the podcast “The Southern Tea,” was on the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best” for 20 episodes between 2014 and 2017. She and her brother, Kyle Chrisley, are the children of Todd Chrisley’s first wife, Teresa Terry.

In 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were found guilty of bank fraud and not paying their taxes, resulting in separate prison sentences. Todd was sentenced to 12 years in Florida, and Julie received a 7-year sentence in Kentucky. However, in 2025, President Trump pardoned them, effectively erasing their convictions and releasing them from prison.

Lindsie Chrisley had been distanced from her family for years because they believed she had talked to state and federal investigators. In 2019, Todd and Julie Chrisley filed a lawsuit against the state of Georgia, claiming a tax official unfairly targeted Lindsie and illegally revealed private tax details in an attempt to gain damaging information about the entire family. The lawsuit stated that these actions caused the Chrisleys significant personal and financial difficulties.

People close to Lindsie Chrisley told TMZ in October 2019 that she contacted a state official simply to find out when her father might be arrested, wanting to protect her young son from the situation. She later shared on her podcast that she reconnected with her father after publicly filing for divorce from Will Campbell in the summer of 2021. Both Lindsie and her father occasionally appeared on each other’s podcasts.

Despite a brief period of seeming to make up, Lindsie revealed in a March 2025 podcast episode that she hadn’t spoken to her father in a year.

In January 2024, the state of Georgia reached a settlement with Chrisley and Todd Chrisley, agreeing to pay them $1 million.
