Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis embrace as they take on the waves in wetsuits while filming Freakier Friday
As an ardent fan of timeless cinematic magic, I am absolutely thrilled to witness the reunion of two iconic actresses – Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis – on the set of Freakier Friday! Their chemistry in the original Freaky Friday was nothing short of electrifying, and I can only imagine the spark they’ll create in this sequel.
As a longtime fan of both Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, I must say that it was absolutely thrilling to learn about their recent foray into swimwear for the filming of “Freakier Friday.” Having grown up watching Lindsay in iconic roles like her titular part in “The Parent Trap” and Jamie’s unforgettable performance as Laurie Strode in “Halloween,” I can confidently say that they have both left an indelible mark on my childhood.
38-year-old actress, having just shared a glowing selfie, was seen shooting scenes alongside her on-screen mother, aged 65, as they enjoyed the ocean and basked in the sunshine at Malibu.
In the past few days, I’ve been fortunate enough to catch a glimpse, and it’s come right after they both confirmed that this would mark their final week on set for the eagerly awaited sequel.
The camera captured Lohan as she donned a green wetsuit adorned with white flowers, showcasing her long, unending legs.
She gathered her sun-kissed, wavy hair loosely into an informal knot, opting for a subtle makeup style that highlighted her glowing complexion.
65-year-old Curtis donned a navy and teal full-body wetsuit while reciting her lines and holding onto the character originating from New York.
Her silvery hair danced in the sea wind as her luminous skin sparkled beneath the sun, completing her style with stylish designer shades.
The pair played joyfully without shoes on the beach as the waves collided with them, causing Curtis to stumble and fall in one instance.
On Monday, the actress who played in The Parent Trap shared a touching post on Instagram during which she announced that this was their last week of shooting for Freaky Friday.
As a die-hard film enthusiast with countless hours spent watching, analyzing, and discussing movies, I can confidently say that working on #freakierfriday has been an unforgettable experience. This final Monday on set feels bittersweet – my heart is brimming with joy, yet tinged with a sense of melancholy as we approach the end of this incredible journey. Working alongside such an exceptional cast and crew, under the guidance of Disney Studios, has been nothing short of a dream come true. The sheer amount of time, effort, and love poured into making this movie is truly evident in every frame, and I am beyond grateful to have been a part of it all. #MondayMotivation
As a filmmaker with a passion for stories that resonate deeply with audiences, I am eternally grateful to have had the opportunity to create this heartwarming film about families, mothers, and their children. The journey of bringing this project to life has been filled with love, laughter, and an abundance of heart, thanks in large part to my dear friend @jamieleecurtis who consistently brings joy and positivity to our set each day. Her presence has made the entire experience all the more special and I am truly grateful for her contribution. This film is not just a product of my own efforts, but a testament to the power of collaboration and the magic that can be created when talented individuals come together with shared vision and purpose. I hope this story touches as many hearts as it has touched mine.
The announcement for the second part of the series was made in March, marking a return after more than 20 years since the initial movie hit the screens.
When queried about the upcoming movie, Lohan shared with People, “I’m thrilled to collaborate with Jamie once more and explore where our story might go next.” She expressed this sentiment after verifying that she will be returning to play Anna Coleman in the sequel.
The Irish Wish star told the outlet that she thinks it will be a lot of ‘fun.’
She continued by saying, “Given that we chat quite frequently, I believe there will be plenty of enjoyable moments ahead for us.”
In the 2003 film adaptation of Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel “Freaky Friday,” Curtis and Lohan took on the roles of a mother-daughter pair who, through some magical means, end up swapping bodies.
Fans can expect to see the sequel in theaters sometime in 2025.
