Lil Nas X, the Grammy-winning artist, was back in a Los Angeles court on Thursday, hoping to find a way to resolve his police battery case.
Lil Nas X, the 26-year-old singer of hits like “Old Town Road” and “Industry Baby” (born Montero Hill), was in Los Angeles court. His lawyer, Christy O’Connor, told the judge she plans to request a diversion program, according to Rolling Stone. This program could allow him to avoid jail time, and O’Connor asked for a delay so the case could be moved to the program.
O’Connor’s team hadn’t confirmed the information as of Friday. Lil Nas X is scheduled to return to court on April 6th for another hearing.

I was shocked to hear that Lil Nas X, the Grammy winner, ended up in the hospital and arrested yesterday! Apparently, he was just walking around Studio City when things went south and he actually charged at a police officer. It’s just crazy to think about!
In August, Lil Nas X was taken to the hospital and arrested after he was found walking in his underwear and boots in Studio City. While initially treated for a possible overdose, he was also accused of attacking police officers. He now faces four felony charges: three counts of battery causing injury to officers and one count of resisting arrest. Authorities claim the singer became violent with officers who were attempting to detain him, resulting in injuries to at least three of them, according to the L.A. County District Attorney’s office.
Lil Nas X, who previously denied all charges, recently updated his fans after another court hearing.
He told reporters outside the courthouse that he loved and missed everyone, and was very grateful for their support. He expressed excitement about being able to hug them again, according to a video shared by Rolling Stone’s Nancy Dillon.
