As a huge Little Mix fan, I was so excited to hear Leigh-Anne say in a recent interview that a reunion is definitely going to happen! She said it’s ‘one hundred per cent‘ on the cards, and honestly, it’s the best news ever!
The singer also shared that she’s been in touch with her former bandmate, Jesy Nelson, while Jesy deals with a very difficult time raising her twin daughters. The twins have been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1, a serious genetic condition affecting their muscles.
The planned Little Mix reunion faced difficulties after Jesy Nelson shared last week that she had attempted suicide shortly before leaving the successful band in 2020.
In a new documentary on Prime Video, Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, Jesy Nelson shared that she felt incredibly isolated and said her former bandmates, Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade, didn’t respond when she reached out for help before her overdose.
During an interview on Heart Breakfast with JK and Kelly Brook, she discussed the possibility of a reunion tour and mentioned contacting Jesy Nelson after hearing about her daughters’ difficult situation.
Kelly asked: ‘So, would Little Mix kind of reform at some point do you think and do a tour?’
Leigh-Anne agreed completely, saying, ‘Absolutely, how could we not?’ She also felt they were reaching a point where they were establishing a lasting impact.
‘I think so many people would just be gagging for that. So yeah, a hundred per cent.’
JK asked: ‘Who would be the mixer that would initiate that sort of getting back together?’
Oh my gosh, Leigh-Anne basically confirmed everything! She said all of them want to do solo stuff eventually, but it’s just a matter of when. It sounds like they all need time to figure out who they are as individuals and go on their own paths first, which I totally get. It’s just… knowing it’s coming eventually is both exciting and heartbreaking! But she made it clear they will come back, I just know it!
Leigh-Anne also mentioned she’s contacted Jesy, explaining that they’ve always believed in supporting one another.
As a lifestyle expert, I always believe in reaching out to those who are going through tough times, and we immediately did when we heard about what was happening with her twins. It’s truly heartbreaking news.
We’re all supporting her, and I admire her courage. Of course, Jade, Perrie, and I are also very close friends.
We’ve always been really close and supportive of each other. After spending so much time together, we’re like sisters, and that bond is incredibly important to us.
In a new documentary series on Prime Video, Jesy Nelson shared that she felt incredibly lonely before her overdose.
This was the second time Jesy Nelson had attempted suicide, after a previous overdose in 2013, which she detailed in her BBC documentary, Jesy Nelson: Odd One Out.
Leigh-Anne, Perrie, and Jade were reportedly upset by Jesy’s recent statements, which have resurfaced painful memories from their shared history.
According to a source, Jesy Nelson’s recent revelations have stirred up difficult emotions within Little Mix. The documentary about her experiences and the public reaction to it have resurfaced painful memories for the group.
In the documentary, Jesy revealed that another member of Little Mix had considered leaving the band before she made her own decision to leave – and now it appears we know who that member was.
The singer said she was completely surprised by the band member’s departure and thought everything was going well with the group.
Five years ago, reports surfaced suggesting Perrie Edwards initially wanted to leave the band, and Jesy Nelson’s recent statements seem to support that idea.
Jesy left the group in November 2020 because the pressure had become overwhelming. She was upset when her lawyer informed the other members of her departure before she could tell them herself.
Tune in to Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden every weekday morning from 6:30 to 10:00 on Heart radio across the UK, and also on the Global Player app.
