The Prospector is a new character added to Clash of Clans in the February 2026 update. They don’t fight and are available for players who have the Gold Pass and reach 2,400 Season Points in their Home Village.
The Prospector works much like the Alchemist, but instead of turning resources into other things, it lets players change one type of Ore into another. Since Ores can be difficult to find, this character is a great way to get the materials needed to improve your Hero’s equipment.
Their abilities can be accessed by visiting the Helper Hut in the Home Village.
How the Prospector Works in Clash of Clans
The Prospector can turn your current Ores into different types of Ores about once a day.

The Prospector doesn’t cost any Gems to build and can’t be upgraded, meaning all players will have a Prospector at Level 1 with consistent Ore conversion rates. Unlike the Alchemist, converting Ores with the Prospector doesn’t give any extra resources.
The Prospector is a special bonus available through the Gold Pass for players at Town Hall level 10 or higher. If you’re below Town Hall 10, you’ll get a Resource Potion instead. The Prospector lasts until the end of the current season, and you’ll need to earn it again in the next season’s Gold Pass if you want to use it again.
What Are the Ore Conversion Rates for the Prospector?
Okay, so the Ore conversion in the Prospector is actually pretty simple. Luckily, there’s only one tier to worry about, which makes things way easier. Here’s how the conversion works:
| Ore Conversion Rate | |
| Shiny Ore | A maximum of 2,000 Shiny Ores can be converted to 120 Glowy Ores or 2 Starry Ores |
| Glowy Ore | A maximum of 120 Glowy Ores can be converted to 2,000 Shiny Ores or 2 Starry Ores |
| Starry Ore | A maximum of 2 Starry Ores can be converted to 2,000 Shiny Ores of 120 Glowy Ores |
As a player, I’ve found that how much Ore I have determines what conversion options are available to me. It’s really cool because I can use a slider to choose exactly how much I want to convert – it gives me a lot of control!
