LEGO marks Shrek’s 25th anniversary with its first-ever sets

LEGO has officially gone full ogre – and honestly, we’re surprised it’s taken this long.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the movie Shrek – and with another new film coming soon – LEGO has released its first-ever building sets based on the DreamWorks series. Now you can build Shrek, Donkey, and the rest of the gang with LEGO bricks!

Ever wished you could say the famous line, “What are you doing in my swamp?” Now you can!

The new collection kicks off with a display set geared towards adults. It includes detailed brick-built models of Shrek and Donkey, plus a Puss in Boots minifigure. Designed for collectors, the set features a swamp-themed base and the iconic “Beware Ogre!” sign.

The set includes lots of references to the first movie, like sunflowers, onions, and a special blue flower with red thorns. LEGO also added some hidden surprises for dedicated fans to discover.

I’m really excited about the LEGO BrickHeadz set they’re releasing! It’s a cool, blocky version of Shrek, Donkey, and Gingy. They’ve done a great job capturing the characters with details like Shrek’s ears and Gingy’s little icing buttons – it really makes them recognizable and adorable!

It’s a smaller, more accessible option – but still very much aimed at fans of the franchise.

It’s no coincidence this is happening now. Shrek came out way back in 2001, and it totally changed the game for fairy tales. Plus, it’s one of those movies where everyone knows all the lines – it’s just endlessly quotable!

After twenty-five years, it’s still incredibly popular, and these collections are a great way to mark the occasion.

You can now pre-order the LEGO Shrek sets! They’ll be officially available on June 1st at LEGO stores and on the LEGO website.
