Okay, so I’m hearing that Riot’s planning some big changes in the next patch, V26A2. Apparently, they’re going to rework Fracture and Lotus – so expect those maps to feel pretty different. On top of that, it looks like Corrode and Abyss are getting pulled from the map rotation, which is a bit of a bummer if you enjoyed playing on them.
VALORANT players will see some changes to the competitive map pool with the start of Act II. Corrode and Abyss are being removed, which many players are happy about, and Fracture and Lotus will be added in their place. There’s been talk of updates coming to both of the removed maps, so here’s a rundown of what we know.
Corrode and Abyss leave the map pool rotation
Okay, so I just heard some news about the maps we’ll be playing! Apparently, Corrode and Abyss are leaving the rotation when Act I ends. But don’t worry, Fracture and Lotus are coming in to take their place! Act I wraps up on March 17th, and thankfully, the removed maps will be back in the rotation pretty quickly after that.
It’s not only about the maps being available for competitive play again. Rumors indicate that Fracture and Lotus might receive small updates. However, Riot Games hasn’t officially announced these changes, so this information should be considered unconfirmed.
Lotus rework
A prominent VALORANT data miner, valohabercisi, has shared an image showcasing changes to the A site on the Lotus map. It appears Riot Games has removed the wall near the A stairs, simplifying the area for attackers by reducing the number of corners they need to clear. The mid section has also been adjusted, with the removal of boxes near A main, and the spike planting zone is now noticeably larger.
The recent Harbor video gave players a glimpse of upcoming changes to the Lotus map. Specifically, the B site is being reworked – Riot Games has removed a hole in the right wall, which previously allowed flashes, like Gekko’s, to pass through. It also appears the connection between A Main and B site is being removed, as the breakable wall that linked the two areas is no longer visible in the map guide.
As a fan, I’ve noticed a big change in how matches are playing out! It used to be that attackers could swing really fast between points A and B through the middle of the map, keeping defenders guessing. Now, that’s much harder to do. It feels like the defenders have a real edge because they’re not getting caught off guard as often.
We haven’t seen any leaks about the Fracture map yet. Most of the changes to Lotus were actually spotted in videos showcasing Harbor’s abilities. We’ll let you know as soon as we have more information!
