League of Legends: KDA Gragas and more for 15th anniversary

League of Legends: KDA Gragas and more for 15th anniversary

As a hardcore LoL enthusiast with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I can hardly contain my excitement as Riot Games finally delivers the long-awaited KDA Gragas skin! From the Star Guardian Urgot to the Pajama Guardian Urgot, they’ve proven time and again that even the most absurd jokes can become reality in this game.

We’re finally getting KDA Gragas.

At long last, Riot Games unveils a much-anticipated skin: KDA Gragus, a special tribute marking the 15th anniversary of League of Legends. Get a sneak peek at what awaits League of Legends (LoL) players as they join in celebrating this grand milestone!

Players can begin obtaining various items from the in-game “LoL Player Days” missions on October 9.

KDA Gragas and other skins

Over time, the League has been filled with recurring humor. Star Guardian Urgot was one such instance, a jest that eventually turned into reality (or nearly so) with Pajama Guardian Urgot. Now, Riot Games officially announced “Music Fan Gragas.” However, among fans, it’s more commonly known as KDA Gragas.

Alongside KDA Gragas, we’ll also be introducing two more exciting skins: Cosplayer Neeko and Esports Fan Trundle. Meanwhile, Ann-Sivir-Sary will become available at no cost once you complete the in-game tasks.

In League of Legends (LoL), the Superfan skins for 2024 are set to drop in patch 14.20, which is scheduled for October 9, 2024. From this date until October 28th, all earnings from these skins will be donated in full to the Riot Games Social Impact Fund, and they’ll even triple match any contributions during that period.

Three New Champions in 2025

In the coming years, it’s been verified that League of Legends developers are introducing three fresh champions in 2025. The existing pattern of having three seasons annually will continue. From the next season onward, each season will have a theme, and a champion fitting this theme will be rolled out.

Each division will include gameplay enhancements too. In the initial season, their focus is maintaining a competitive atmosphere, even if your Nexus is exposed. The newly leaked Nexus explosion visuals might be connected to this adjustment.

Teemo Rework

In the upcoming Patch 14.20, the Teemo Art and Sustainability Update (ASU) will go live as well! Notably, Teemo will receive a new theme song that perfectly complements his persona.

The story associated with him is set to undergo modifications as well. Narrative author River ‘TenPaces’ Jaffe disclosed that they aimed to make Teemo less militaristic in nature, and instead, portray him more like a head of a scouting troop.

Arena, Swarm, and Game Modes

Besides the modifications mentioned, fans of ARAM can also anticipate an unexpected surprise. At this point, we’re still unsure what exactly that will be.

According to Riot, it’s ideal for players to consistently switch up the game mode they play, and since its launch in 2024, their game has never gone more than a patch without a Rotating Game Mode (RGM). They hinted at another update coming later this year that will reveal the plan for RGMs in 2025, but they didn’t provide any additional information.

As a dedicated fan, I’d like to share some insights from Eduardo “Riot Cadmus” Cortejoso, the game modes lead for League of Legends. He recently mentioned that Arena and Swarm represent our dedication to invest in modes outside of the traditional Summoner’s Rift (SR) format. However, he also shared that at this moment, there are no immediate plans to focus on older modes like Doombots, which means it might be a while before we can enjoy them again.

Goodbye (for now), Arena!

Unfortunately for League of Legends Arena enthusiasts, the development team has shared some disappointing news: Arena won’t become a permanent game mode. However, it’s set to make a comeback early next year! The team mentioned that players can look forward to more advancements, innovative experimentation, and fresh experiences.

Ultimate Spellbook will take its place in the meantime.

Swarm, Swarm, Swarm!

As a passionate gamer, I can confidently say that my performances with Swarm have been commendable, according to Riot Games. Moreover, it seems the gaming community is incredibly captivated by Player versus Environment (PvE) game modes when it comes to Swarm.

Without revealing any details, the League of Legends development team has shared that they are exploring ways Swarm will align with their current system and planning improvements for the mode in upcoming events.
