Lauren Conrad has shared whether she plans to return to reality television after appearing in the 20th anniversary special, ‘The Reunion: Laguna Beach’.
Conrad rose to fame as one of the popular young women featured on the early 2000s reality show set in Laguna Beach, alongside Kristin Cavallari. However, she’s largely avoided public attention in recent years.
The 40-year-old reality star said she’s thinking about pausing her career, in a preview for this Tuesday’s episode of Kristin Cavallari’s podcast, ‘Let’s Be Honest’.
I’d love to finish my career surrounded by the people I began it with – to be able to share a final goodbye with the same group I started with. It feels like a fitting way to end things, and then I can move on.
Conrad’s 39-year-old castmate interjected: ‘…hang up that entertainment hat.’
‘God, I hope so,’ the pretty designer said. ‘I don’t [miss it at all].’
In 2004-2005, MTV chose 18-year-old Conrad, along with her high school classmates Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth, and Stephen Colletti, to be the stars of the first two seasons of Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County.
The actress once described the job as incredibly easy money, and she only appeared on five seasons of MTV’s The Hills (from 2006 to 2009) because she needed the income.
On Laguna Beach, Conrad clashed with Cavallari because they were both interested in Stephen Colletti. Later, The Hills often faced criticism for creating fake drama and storylines.
Originally from Laguna Beach, she declined to be a main cast member for two seasons of the 2019 MTV revival, The Hills: New Beginnings. However, she agreed to participate in the one-time Laguna Beach reunion special because Roku also made her an executive producer on the project.
Conrad expressed feeling incredibly fortunate, noting that after a long career in entertainment, things could easily have turned out differently.
I feel like many people don’t appreciate things while they have them, but I did. I really enjoyed my time and had a lot of fun. I’m very thankful for the experience.
Looking back, everything I went through really shaped who I am today and allowed me to build the life I have now. Honestly though, what I cherish most is simply spending time with my family and friends, and enjoying a more peaceful, low-key lifestyle.
The co-founder of The Little Market and her husband, musician William Tell, have two sons, Liam (8) and Charlie (6). They began dating in 2012 and were married for 11 years.
The rock band featuring the 46-year-old guitarist and backup singer will perform next on August 6th at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia.
Even though Conrad has over 5.8 million followers on Instagram, he hardly ever posts – maybe just once a year.
Lauren Conrad, who left the Fashion Institute of Technology, stays active by managing her clothing brand, LC Lauren Conrad, and her children’s line, Little Co., both of which are available at Kohl’s.
