Lambrini Girls pull out of Coachella, postpone U.S. tour due to ‘acute brain injury’

Coachella 2026 just got a little less punk.

The Lambrini Girls have cancelled their performance at Coachella and are postponing their U.S. tour because one of the duo is injured.

Phoebe Lunny, a guitarist and vocalist, shared on Instagram Wednesday that she fractured her neck and suffered a brain injury while in Australia. She explained the injury was first incorrectly diagnosed by doctors.

The singer of “Bad Apple” explained that a misdiagnosis delayed her treatment, and doctors have now told her she needs to rest for six weeks, meaning she can’t fly or perform during that time.

The band shared their disappointment about having to miss Coachella, saying they were really upset and wanted to be there more than anything. One member explained that if it were a simple injury, they’d play through it, referencing Dave Grohl’s famous performance with a broken leg. However, because the issue involves their neck and brain, they’re unable to perform. They’re hoping to play next year and are optimistic about a quick recovery.

Music

As a total music and festival fan, I’ve been following Coachella since its early days as a smaller desert event. It’s amazing to see how much it’s grown into this huge cultural phenomenon! I’m really excited to relive some of the most unforgettable performances – Daft Punk, Beyoncé… and who could forget the famous Coachella astronaut? It’s going to be a trip down memory lane!

Lunny also spoke to fans in the U.S., sharing that the dates for the rescheduled tour are available here, and acknowledging that “things are tough right now, particularly in the States.”

The band is fundamentally about creating a space for people to challenge the status quo and express themselves,” she explained. “It brings me the most happiness to see people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds uniting – moshing, supporting each other, chanting, and sharing a full range of emotions, from joyful to angry.

The punk duo’s Saturday 3 p.m. performance has been canceled. Jack White, formerly of The White Stripes, will now perform at that time in the Mojave tent.
