Lady Gaga wore a strikingly unusual outfit when she performed at the 2026 Grammys on Sunday, joining Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber to kick off the evening’s show.
The 39-year-old singer, who won the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for her album MAYHEM, performed a rock-style rendition of her song Abracadabra and wore a distinctive outfit during the performance.
The music artist was surrounded by a thick fog and minimal lighting to kick off the song.
Lady Gaga was seen by the keyboards, wearing a large black hat that covered part of her face.
Long red accents were added to the headpiece, and a small opening was created in the front to give a clearer view of the singer.
She also wore a black and red top with feather-like details, paired with a shimmering black skirt that caught the stage lights.
She steadied herself with a black walking stick and put on a pair of black leather boots with heels.
The singer’s platinum blonde hair was swept back, and she was wearing a striking red lipstick.
Lady Gaga played the instruments on stage as she powerfully sang her hit song released last year.
The singer performed under flashing lights, and at one memorable moment, she dramatically fell to the stage floor while still singing.
Okay, so you will NOT believe this! During the rock rendition of the song, instead of a whole dance crew, a GUITARIST came out! Just a single guitarist, helping to amp up the energy. It was such a cool, unexpected moment, and honestly, it made the performance even better! I was completely floored.
She further showcased her vocal skills by hitting high notes as red lights began to fill the stage.
As a lifestyle and event observer, I always appreciate how a dynamic camera really captures the energy of a live performance. During this show, the camera skillfully circled the performer, offering the audience a variety of perspectives, all while the crowd roared with excitement from within the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. It truly brought the experience to life!
Lady Gaga finished the performance at a keyboard, and the audience and celebrities responded with a standing ovation.
Sabrina Carpenter jumped to the stage early in the evening to perform her song Manchild.
The stage was decorated like an airport, and the performer wore a white corset, mini shorts, and white lace boots.
I’ve always been captivated by her look – her incredibly shiny, platinum blonde hair would cascade down in these beautiful curls, and she’d often top it off with a classic white hat. It was just stunning!
The initials ‘SCA’ were stitched onto the front, likely standing for Sabrina Carpenter Airlines.
She moved around the stage, playfully rolling on a luggage cart and even sitting atop a stack of suitcases.
Manchild received four Grammy nominations this year, including Song of the Year. The song appears on her album, Man’s Best Friend, which was also nominated for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
She got the crowd on their feet, leading them in a cheer before launching into a dance performance with her dancers.
Carpenter concluded her performance by climbing onto an airplane propeller, where she held a white dove.
Later in the evening, Bieber performed Yukon from his album Swag.
The singer performed wearing only shorts and socks, standing directly in a bright spotlight.
A hush fell over the audience as he walked onto the stage and started playing the song’s melody on his guitar.
He then added a beat through instruments near him before singing lyrics to the ballad.
Oh my gosh, it was incredible! He finished the song and started to walk off stage, and the lights were fading, but then he turned back! He just slipped back to grab his guitar before finally leaving, and the whole crowd just exploded into a standing ovation. It was the sweetest thing, like he couldn’t leave without saying goodbye to his guitar, and everyone went wild! I swear, I almost lost my voice screaming!
Hailey beamed with pride from her seat in the arena as her husband performed ‘Yukon’.
The 68th Annual Grammy Awards began with a performance by Rosé of Blackpink and Bruno Mars.
The duo sang their 2024 track Apt. and gave an energetic vibe to the crowd to start the big night.
Mars rocked out to the song by singing into a microphone and playing the guitar.
I absolutely loved watching Rose perform! She had so much energy, bouncing around the stage, and she looked amazing doing it – those high-waisted black trousers with the little white tank top were such a perfect outfit for her!
She finished her outfit with a casually draped black tie, while Mars wore a traditional black suit and an open-collared white shirt.
Before the winner of Best New Artist was revealed, all the nominees got to perform for the audience.
The Marias kicked off the musical performances with their song “No One Noticed,” followed by Addison Rae singing “Fame Is A Gun.”
She began singing as the truck she was riding on approached the Crypto.com Arena.
The media personality wore a sparkly purple coat and heeled boots, then impressed everyone with her dancing.
Rae took off her outer layer, revealing she was wearing a sparkly purple bra and underwear underneath.
Girl group Katseye then continued to keep the upbeat energy going with their song Gnarly.
The six performers wore matching outfits and returned to the stage to perform the dance routine.
The audience cheered on the group as they each took time to belt out lyrics to the song.
Leon Thomas was next to perform as he jumped to the stage with a guitar to sing his song Mutt.
The music artist was also accompanied with a band as celebrities nearby cheered the star on.
Alex Warren made his way through some of the audience members to belt out his track Ordinary.
Throughout the arena, both audience members and performers illuminated the space with the flashlights on their phones during the show.
Lola Young also showcased her vocal skills as she performed the song Messy on the piano.
Okay, let me tell you what I spotted! The singer was absolutely stunning in a black outfit, and she had this gorgeous purple fabric trailing behind her – it added such a dramatic and elegant touch. It really elevated the whole look, and I’m already thinking about how to style something similar!
Olivia Dean brought the crowd to their feet once again as she grooved to her track Man I Need.
The singer wore a sparkling red minidress and heels, complemented by striking gold jewelry.
Dean went on to win the award for Best New Artist in the category.
Sombr finished the show with a performance of ’12 To 12,’ wearing a sparkly cropped blazer and pants.
He began his performance by standing on a stage prop and then smoothly jumping down. The artist then moved into the audience to dance with celebrities like Queen Latifah.
Later that night, Bruno Mars returned to the stage to perform his latest single, “I Just Might.”
He wore a bright red outfit to match the theme, and his band followed suit with similar looks. A large red heart was also positioned on stage.
You know, being on stage and performing is such a rush! I recently saw Mars absolutely kill it – he was totally in his element, singing his heart out for a packed house of fans and some amazing celebrities. The energy was incredible!
Tyler, The Creator started his performance at the Grammys with his songs “Thought I Was Dead” and “Like Him.” He wore a striking green outfit featuring bold shoulder pads.
The stage transformed into a car shop, and Regina King unexpectedly appeared to deliver an encouraging speech to the musician, who had quickly changed clothes.
She warned me, ‘If you ever feel tempted to revisit those old haunts, you need to get rid of them. Otherwise, they’ll ruin you. Do you understand?’ Then she told me to grab my keys.
The performer sang “Sugar On My Tongue” while dancing energetically on stage, and at one point, playfully jumped onto a red car.
His performance ended abruptly when an explosion at the gas station behind the stage caused him to fall off.
More stars took to the stage for the In Memoriam portion of the night.
Reba McEntire sang her song “Trailblazer” as a memorial to musicians who died in the last year. She was accompanied on stage by Brandy Clark and Lukas Nelson.
Reba McEntire wore a completely black outfit, featuring a long coat decorated with sparkling feathers.
During the event, she honored her former stepson, Brandon Blackstock, who also served as her late talent manager.
Oh my god, it was incredible! They honored Ozzy, which he SO deserves, and Post Malone sang ‘War Pigs’! Can you believe it? Post Malone singing Black Sabbath? It was a total dream come true, seriously. I was losing it!
The singer was accompanied by Slash, Duff McKagan, Chad Smith and Andrew Watt for the performance.
Lauryn Hill honored Roberta Flack, who died in February 2025, by performing on stage wearing a black dress and a sparkling silver necklace.
At one point during the performance, Wyclef Jean, who was also in the Fugees with her, joined her on stage to sing a rendition of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly with His Song.”
Joining the tribute to Aretha Franklin were John Legend, Chaka Khan, John Batiste, Leon Bridges, Alexia Jayy, Lalah Hathaway, and October London.
The artists also helped sing additional tracks including Closer I Get To You and Where Is The Love.
Oh my gosh, when they honored D’Angelo during the In Memoriam segment, I nearly lost it! Lauryn Hill sang some of his best songs – “Brown Sugar” and “Lady”! It was absolutely perfect and such a beautiful way to remember him. I was completely captivated!
The singer also performed “Nothing Even Matters,” a song she and D’Angelo created together back in 1998.
Late in the evening, the hip hop group Clipse performed a powerful rendition of their song “So Far Ahead,” which appears on their 2025 album, Let God Sort Em Out.
Malice and Pusha T performed with Pharrell Williams and a choir providing backing vocals.
