Kylie Jenner squirms at ‘awkward’ BAFTA host Alan Cummings’ innuendo-packed joke about ‘getting her gums around a Jammie Dodger’ while dishing out ‘very British snacks’

Kylie Jenner seemed uncomfortable and squirmed during a joke Alan Cumming made at the BAFTAs on Sunday night.

Oh my gosh, I was screaming when I saw her there! Kylie actually went to the BAFTAs to support Timothée! Can you believe it?! It was at the Royal Festival Hall in London, and apparently the host, Alan, was giving out British snacks to everyone – how cute is that?! But honestly, all I could focus on was Kylie being there for Timothée. It was EVERYTHING.

Kylie’s partner, age 30, received a bag of Scampi Fries, while Kylie was surprised with a huge Jammie Dodger from Alan, 61, who playfully asked if she’d ever tried one that big.

Although the celebrity politely said ‘Thank you’ when offered the snack, it was obvious the off-color joke made them uncomfortable. Many viewers on X commented that the presenter was telling jokes that were embarrassing and awkward.

This comment follows a year where Kylie faced a lot of criticism and became the subject of many jokes during awards shows. It appeared the backlash stemmed from her being a reality TV star among more established Hollywood actors, but she seems to have overcome that perception this year.

Viewers quickly reacted after Kylie appeared puzzled by the classic British biscuit – a sweet treat with two shortcake layers, a fruity jam filling, and a distinctive heart-shaped hole.

People on X are joking about Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner sharing a large Jammie Dodger biscuit at the BAFTAs – not Kylie simply receiving one.

It’s hard to imagine Kylie Jenner trying a Jammie Dodger biscuit… Seeing her try one at the #BAFTAs is a funny thought! #EEBAFTAs

The BAFTAs are usually a very classy event, but this year’s show, hosted by Alan Cumming, feels a bit strange. It’s odd seeing him give Kylie Jenner fries, and the whole setup looks more like a school event than a prestigious awards ceremony.

It’s hilarious to imagine Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner being offered scampi fries and Jammy Dodgers – they clearly have no idea what those snacks are! The thought of Kylie Jenner even trying scampi fries is just fantastic. I’m loving the BAFTAs right now.

Reports last year suggested Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner thought about leaving the Golden Globes ceremony to avoid jokes Nikki Glaser might make about Kylie.

In January 2025, while hosting the show, the comedian joked about Timothée Chalamet’s performance as Bob Dylan in the film A Complete Unknown.

Nikki explained that she and Timothée almost didn’t do the monologue. She’d told Timothée’s publicist he’d be mentioned in her opening, and she understood their hesitation because Kylie was already the punchline of many jokes.

She explained that he found out about something and was planning to deliberately miss the beginning of her performance and arrive late to avoid confronting it.

I understand why he left – his girlfriend is already a frequent target of jokes, and he didn’t want to be subjected to the same treatment, especially on what should be a fun night for him. I don’t blame him for removing himself from the situation.

This year, Kylie attended the Golden Globes and surprisingly avoided becoming the target of any jokes. Instead, Timothée Chalamet gave her a heartfelt mention when he accepted his Best Actor award for his performance in Marty Supreme.

Ignoring the risqué jokes and Alan’s hosting duties, the awards show’s biggest winner was One Battle After Another, which took home six awards.

Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed film had already broken records with 14 nominations, and ultimately won six awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, a Supporting Actor award, and prizes for both Cinematography and Editing.

Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her performance in Hamnet, as many predicted. However, the awards ceremony still had some unexpected moments, including Timothée Chalamet losing Best Actor to a local star.

Although many expected Timothée to win for his performance in Marty Supreme, Robert Aramayo, who starred in I Swear, ultimately received the award.

When ‘As One Battle For Another’ won Best Film, producer Sarah Murphy shared that they wished their partner, Adam Somner, could have been there to accept the award in his hometown.

Paul Thomas Anderson, the director and producer, expressed his gratitude for the recognition his film received, calling it a tremendous honor.

I know there are other good movies out there, but anyone who claims that films aren’t good anymore is wrong. This has been an exceptionally strong year for cinema.

He added that he planned to go and find a ‘bar somewhere to go celebrate.’

The night’s biggest disappointment was the ping pong drama, Marty Supreme. Despite being a frontrunner with 11 nominations, the show didn’t win any awards.

Jessie is predicted to win the Best Actress Oscar, and she used her acceptance speech to express gratitude to the other nominees.

It’s a truly incredible honor,” she said. “Growing up, I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to make a film, but here I am.

I met with my agent, Lindy King, in London, looking quite a mess – I had a terrible fake tan, large white hoop earrings, and a red polka dot skirt and top. Despite my appearance, I actually told her I hoped to become a respected actress like Judi Dench.

I honestly can’t imagine how she thought that could happen. This achievement truly belongs to the women who have inspired and guided me, showing me better ways to approach things.

While thanking her fellow nominees, Jessie accidentally left out Kate Hudson and had to ask the audience if she’d forgotten anyone. She finished by expressing her admiration for all of their amazing performances.

The audience and everyone at the event were shocked when Robert was named Best Actor for “I Swear.” He won over established stars like Timothée Chalamet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

When Robert’s son was recognized for his achievement, his father was overjoyed. He leaped up, shouting and jumping with excitement when his son’s name was announced.

Standing on stage, Aramayo expressed his disbelief, saying he couldn’t believe he was seeing the crowd before him, let alone that he was the one standing there.

Sunday night’s awards show saw a total of 28 prizes given out, with One Battle After Another taking home the most at six awards. Sinners, Frankenstein, and I Swear each won three awards, and Hamnet received two.
