Kyle Sandilands surprises struggling family with generous donation after their father lost his job
As an ardent follower of Kyle Sandilands and his radio show, I have witnessed countless moments of his quick wit and sharp humor, but today, he truly outdid himself. The story of Rhiannon, a young woman struggling to help her parents amidst their financial hardships, struck a chord with me.
On a Wednesday, the radio personality Kyle Sandilands demonstrated compassion, dipping into his own wallet to assist a hard-up Sydney family.
During their regular $10,000 Pop Quiz game, Kyle and his co-star Jackie O Henderson decided to perform a generous act. Listeners could win $100 for each correct answer or a massive $10,000 if they answered every question correctly.
23-year-old Rhiannon called to participate, disclosing her intention to allocate the $10,000 towards purchasing a new vehicle for her financially strained parents.
In a heartfelt moment, Rhiannon shared that her father had recently been let go from his job, leaving him in the midst of constructing a brand-new home.
‘Their car is on its way out,’ she said between tears.
Currently, neither my father nor mother has a steady job, which means our finances are tight. Despite this challenge, we’re in the process of constructing a new home. In light of these circumstances, I simply wish to extend a kind gesture and lend a hand to make their lives a little easier.
Sadly, Rhiannon walked away feeling let down because she managed to answer only two questions accurately, earning herself only $200.
Yet, when it was unveiled that he finds it uncomfortable listening to women sob, Kyle chose to act independently, disrupting the show in defiance of the competition’s regulations.
Instead of suggesting, he generously proposed to alleviate some of the burden from the hard-pressed family by personally purchasing a car for them.
After Jackie proposed a game of double-or-nothing, Kyle generously gave Rhiannon another opportunity to claim the grand prize following his suggestion.
‘Turn the music off. Forget the double or nothing,’ Kyle announced.
‘If you answer the next question right, I myself will personally buy your parents a car. It’s no 458 Ferrari or any of this. It’s just a car. I will buy it personally for them.’

Later on, Jackie inquired of Rhiannon, ‘Which company is responsible for creating Mickey Mouse, Goofy, and Donald Duck?’
Rhiannon gave the right response, saying ‘Disney’, and her joy soared when Kyle declared, ‘I’ll get your dad a new car.’
Deeply moved, Rhiannon put her father, Craig, on the phone, and they were both touched by Kyle’s thoughtful act.
Kyle shared, “I’m planning to purchase a car for all of you. It’s my way of trying to alleviate some of the hardship we’re facing right now.
Overwhelmed with feelings, Craig expressed gratitude towards Kyle’s generosity, yet pointed out that there were others in a more difficult situation who might deserve it even more.

‘No, you don’t have to do that,’ Craig said.
‘There’s a hell of a lot more people out there that are struggling more than what we are.’
In a warm tone, Jackie expressed, “I truly appreciate people just like you,” followed by Craig, struggling to keep his emotions in check, expressing sincere gratitude towards the radio personalities.
‘That’s so beautiful, there are some beautiful people in this world,’ she added.
