Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson announce shock change to their radio show after Melbourne expansion
Fans have been taken aback by an unexpected shift in the format of Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson‘s well-known radio program.
The Kyle and Jackie O Show, recognized for its distinctive, bold, and uncensored humor, has recently committed to reducing the intensity of their on-air activities.
53-year-old shock jock Kyle and his 49-year-old co-host Jackie haven’t managed to gain favor with Melbourne listeners since their expansion into the city in April 2024, experiencing a decrease in radio popularity.
In an effort to gain support from local fans, I find myself committing to tone down the playful mischief that our popular Sydney KIIS FM show is known for.
‘Give it a listen! We’ve got a new act for you, Melbourne.’ This version aims to maintain the original message while using more conversational language and making the ad more appealing to potential viewers in Melbourne.
1. The adverts are found almost everywhere on Melbourne’s buses, since they’ve been teased for their mischievous image by the morning radio program.
2. The advertisements can be seen virtually anywhere on Melbourne’s buses due to the light-hearted ribbing given to them by the breakfast show regarding their questionable fame.
3. The ads are everywhere on Melbourne’s buses because they’ve been playfully criticized for their less-than-saintly reputation by the morning radio broadcast.
4. You can spot advertisements all over Melbourne’s buses, as they’ve become the target of good-natured jest from the breakfast show about their somewhat scandalous image.
5. The ads are plastered across Melbourne’s buses due to the banter directed at their mischievous standing by the morning radio program.

Kyle and Jackie are known for interviewing individuals about their intimate relationships and unveiling tips on recognizing an exotic massage parlor in some provocative show segments.
Following its debut in Melbourne last year, KIIS FM leadership has been adapting the show to better suit the preferences of the local audience.
In November, it became public knowledge that Kyle planned to tone down his distinctive explicit sexual content in an effort to attract the audience in Melbourne.
As a devotee, I find it worth mentioning that the sexual aspect of the production was quite minimal, according to Duncan Campbell, our Chief Content Officer, in his conversation with Mumbrella.
‘Because it was graphic, it grabbed everyone’s attention – but [Kyle’s] taken that off, really.
‘It’s still sexual content. But not the graphic sexual content that it once was.’
In simpler terms, Campbell stated to the media that it was Kyle who proposed reducing the graphic elements and shows great enthusiasm for capturing the hearts of Melbourne residents.
‘[Kyle] wants to win in Melbourne. There’s no doubt about that,’ he added.

In Melbourne, the launch of The Kyle & Jackie O Show has been gradual following its expansion, and it recently experienced a slight decrease in listener numbers during the seventh round of GfK radio ratings in the city.
In the breakfast time-slot, they are positioned eighth with a 5.1% audience share, significantly trailing behind Nova’s Jase and Lauren and Triple M, as well as ABC Melbourne.
Despite being in Sydney, Kyle and Jackie have continued to dominate the breakfast timeslot.
This was despite a drop to 13.1 per cent of the audience.
Earlier, Kyle criticized the Melbourne audience for their conservative attitudes, attributing the show’s poor ratings to this perceived ‘conservatism’ in a passionate outburst.
He was angry because it was your responsibility to arrive on time at the party, yet you were tardy. He seemed frustrated that everyone seems to enjoy the chaotic spectacle that once took place here, which you appear to represent as “pearl clutchers.
They’ve been at the top for a month, but now they seem to be sliding backwards once more. Despite this, everyone appears to be taking it in their stride.
‘If you want to listen to s***, listen to s***, that is fine by me.
Ultimately, Jase Hawkins isn’t a Melburnian; he hails from Brisbane. So, it seems like the humor might be lost on him, or perhaps the joke is on those who perceive themselves as ‘pests’.
