There was good news at KIIS FM’s Kyle & Jackie O show on Wednesday.
Radio host Kyle Sandilands shared the happy news that show producer Jaimee Blazquez, known as Mayo, has had her second baby.
Jaimee and her husband Sebastian Blazquez already have a two-year-old son, Hudson.
Sandilands indicated that Jaimee is, ‘so happy’ about the new arrival.
Jaimee has been keeping her followers updated on her pregnancy through social media, and recently mentioned her baby could arrive at any moment, as her last post was a week ago.
It’s a bright patch in a difficult period for the top-rated radio show.
Kyle Sandilands publicly addressed the situation after his KIIS FM colleague, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson, took time off work following a heated argument they had on the radio on Monday.
The radio personality, 54, publicly criticized Henderson on Friday, claiming she was letting her interest in astrology interfere with her job.
A disagreement seems to have damaged the established working relationship between the radio hosts, and Henderson, age 50, didn’t appear on Monday’s Kyle & Jackie O show.
On Tuesday, Sandilands quickly mentioned that Jackie would be taking a week off from the show.
The admission came after newsreader Brooklyn Ross told Sandilands that he missed the radio queen.
‘She’ll be gone for the week, I’m told,’ Sandilands said. ‘That’s what I heard yesterday.’
Sandilands appears to have changed his tune over the weekend, saying he’s now excited about her coming back.
Henderson became visibly upset on Friday when Sandilands criticized her for seemingly being overly interested in astrology.
Henderson seemed genuinely surprised and upset by the unexpected on-air comment, stating that it offended her.
The situation didn’t stop there. Sandilands also said Henderson’s intense focus on her was impacting her job, and KIIS FM staff had already discussed this with him.
Henderson then became audibly emotional, fighting back tears as she continued to defend herself.
Henderson was visibly upset by this, and he let his co-star know that he was capable of continuing the show even if her performance wasn’t up to par.
