Kit Harington explains why he won’t watch House of the Dragon
As a gamer with a deep appreciation for fantasy series, I can understand Kit Harington’s decision to step away from House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones for a while. After all, when you’ve spent eight long years battling White Walkers and politicking in Westeros, even the most die-hard fans might need a break!
Former Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has explained why he won’t watch House of the Dragon.
Kit Harington portrayed the courageous Jon Snow, a hero of the North, across all eight seasons of the HBO fantasy series, receiving nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards.
He has moved on to the third season of Industry, and he told the Associated Press that he’s not keeping up with Thrones‘ prequel series HOTD.
He responded, “In my opinion, I stayed there for too long.” He added, “I wish them nothing but the best and I hope it continues to be amazing and thrive.”
1. I highly doubt I’ll ever tune into that series, nor do I plan to revisit “Game of Thrones” anytime soon.
The actor remarked, “It’s been several years since I wrapped up ‘Game of Thrones’. I’m not entirely certain if it’s completely out of sight yet. I believe it requires some time to truly move on.”
Initially, Harington was planned to reappear as Jon Snow in a new “Game of Thrones” series, but he announced last spring that the project had been temporarily halted.
He shared with Screen Rant that in the process of development, every possible aspect is examined and a decision is made as to whether it’s worthwhile. At this point, however, it isn’t. For now, the project has been set aside because we couldn’t discover a compelling story that excited us all sufficiently. As a result, we’ve decided to pause work on it temporarily.
In the future, there might be a possibility that we revisit it, however, not now. Currently, it’s securely stored away.
In addition to his latest position in the Industry, Harington is also set to act alongside Naomi Scott in the forthcoming romantic drama titled Eternal Return.
The first eight seasons of the television series known as “Game of Thrones” can be purchased on DVD or Blu-ray. Meanwhile, the prequel series titled “House of the Dragon” is currently airing on HBO and its streaming platform Max in the United States. In the UK, it can be found on Sky Atlantic and NOW.
