As a long-time follower of Kirsty Gallacher‘s career, it’s always a pleasure to see her evolve and grow. From her humble beginnings at Sky Sports to her recent foray into radio and podcasting, she has consistently proven herself to be a versatile talent.

Kirsty Gallacher is set to make an unexpected career move.

48-year-old star initially gained her hosting opportunity on Sky Sports and has since become connected to numerous other sports programs like 90 Minutes, Soccer Extra, and Soccer AM.

Currently, the presenter has shared that she is trading her football shirts for a fresh career path, hinting at an intriguing new project.

Speaking to OK Magazine, she said: ‘I’m looking at dipping my toes back into the fashion industry.

As a fashion enthusiast with a background in journalism, allow me to share my journey. I embarked on this path at the prestigious London College of Fashion, nurturing a dream to delve deep into the world of fashion journalism.

Currently, I’m exploring new projects related to the same field, which might lead to some changes in my current approach or direction. In other words, expect something fresh and stimulating!

From April 2021, Kirsty took over hosting her own Saturday program on Smooth Radio, and she also handled their morning show throughout the entire summer.

Speaking about being part of the popular station, she told The Mirror: ‘It’s my favourite channel.

‘I’d always wanted to do a radio show like this. It’s an absolute dream.

It’s fortunate for me to have the opportunity to explore various forms of expression, as I’ve essentially taken on multiple roles or identities in different creative fields, approximately three to four times so far!

Most recently, Kirsty has also been hosting her new podcast, Sporting Routes, with National Rail.

The podcast features interviews with several prominent sports figures discussing top sports destinations in Britain.

Given my strong passion for sports, it’s only natural that some cherished family moments have been rekindled along the way.

She said: ‘There’s nothing better than going to see live sport, you know. Take a child to an actual football, tennis or football match, and they’re going to get the bug, because being there, the atmosphere is just incredible.’

As a parent, I shared the same enthusiasm with my kids for football and rugby. So, we visited the museum at Old Trafford since they’re ardent Manchester United fans, where they had the opportunity to walk on the field, which they adored. We also traveled by train to Twickenham Stadium to witness a rugby match together.

Kirsty is the mom of two sons, Oscar and Jude, whom she co-parents with her former spouse, Paul Sampson, following their separation in 2015.

The turmoil of the split led to a deep depression and her physical collapse at Sky Sports in 2016.

On the other hand, the well-known television and radio personality has moved on positively and has rekindled a relationship with former rugby player Darren Clayton.

She admitted to The Sun that they became acquainted because they shared two common friends, namely Gabby and Kenny Logan.

The mother of two shared with the media outlet: “We’re overjoyed, we share similar backgrounds – we’re both single parents who enjoy golfing.

‘He looks after me and tells me to have time off as I can be a workaholic.’

She shared that her typical days are filled with chasing after the kids during their sports activities, yet her partner often suggests I should take a break one day since I work on Saturdays hosting my radio show.

The duo met in Edinburgh last year for a fundraising event in memory of rugby player Doddie Weir – who passed away in 2022 from Motor Neurone Disease.
