Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Voice Actor Describes Working on the Game as an “Amazing and Unusual” Acting Challenge
In a chat with BBC, voice actors Tom McKay and Luke Dale, who contributed to Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, shared insights into their experiences during the RPG’s production. Tom McKay characterized the project as an “extraordinarily unique and challenging acting experience” for him.
McKay stated, “Your approach often involves going partway along a path of decision-making, then retracing some steps and choosing another route, possibly returning to where you started and then moving forward again. This kind of pattern is rarely encountered in television or film acting.
Besides discussing the covert aspects of game creation, he mentioned that his Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) restricted him from engaging with enthusiasts of the series who might inquire about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
McKay remarked, “It felt much like being employed by a covert intelligence agency such as the British GCHQ. The work was so confidential that I couldn’t discuss it with anyone, and in some instances, not even those working alongside me could share details of their tasks with their partners.
He’d usually say that he adores Prague and frequently visits for vacations whenever fans asked him about his time there. “I’d put it this way: ‘Prague is my favorite city, and I find myself visiting quite a bit for numerous holidays,” he would explain.
In addition, Dale mentioned that the team developing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 collaborated closely with him in shaping his character, commending lead creator Daniel Vávra for his exceptional grasp and execution of the game’s conceptual vision.
As a gamer, I find myself in a situation where multiple characters approach me. Here’s how I might rephrase it: “I’m surrounded by various characters in this game world. Me and Tom are thinking, ‘Let’s simplify this.’ Daniel, who originated the idea, is incredibly helpful in this process because he knows precisely what he wants at all times.
Additionally, you can expect a variety of content after the game’s release, such as free updates and paid expansions. Back in January, Warhorse Studios unveiled their plans, announcing that the first paid expansion, titled “Brushes With Death“, is set to arrive this Summer. Following it will be “Legacy of the Forge” in Autumn, and “Mysteria Ecclesia” in Winter. Each of these expansions will center around unique narratives.
You’ll be able to buy the additional content (DLC) on its own. If you’d prefer to have everything at once, opt for the Expansion Pass or the Complete Edition of “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2”, as both come with all the content included.
