The “Our Daily Bread” quest in the Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC is challenging because you need to locate three specific items while avoiding the monastery guards – the area is on lockdown. If you can find Cellarius Jullians’ spectacles and a certain book (which points to the location of crayfish), he might agree to supply the infirmary with more food.

Okay, so a quick tip from one fan to another: seriously, save your game a lot during those monastery missions! If the Abbot catches you doing something you shouldn’t, it’s game over. Also, I’ve found it’s a really good idea to stock up on Savior Schnapps – you’ll thank me later!

Our Daily Bread Book Location – Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Players need to find Vendelin’s old book in the library, but it can be tricky because there are many books, and most of them are just for show.

Start by walking straight ahead from the library entrance. As soon as you turn to your right, you’ll see a red leather book called ‘Crayfish, the poor man’s salmon’ resting against other books on a shelf that isn’t overly full.

Once you find the book, read it completely, turning each page, so Henry is credited with reading it. This will trigger a new task: catching crayfish. The final page of the book will give you a clue about where to find them.

Henry needs to catch 8 crayfish from the monastery ponds, but guards patrol the area. Luckily, the guards have poor visibility into the water, meaning Henry can successfully catch them during the daytime if he stays low to the ground.

You could also try catching crayfish at night, but it will be more difficult to spot them. It’s best not to use a flashlight, as the crayfish will all be stationary at the bottom of the pond.

As a fan of these little guys, I’ve learned that crayfish actually make a noise when you approach! It’s a really cool sound – kind of like a clicking or scraping, and it’s made by them rubbing their claws together. So, keep your ears open when you’re looking for them!

Use the map above to find all 8 crayfish during the Our Daily Bread quest in KCD2.

  • Left Pond: x3, two near the bottom right, and one near the top right.
  • Middle Pond: x3, top right, bottom right, and middle.
  • Right Pond: x2, top right and bottom left on the stairs.

If you’re having trouble finding the crayfish, you can use the photo mode in KCD2 to help. Just be careful that the guards don’t overhear Henry when he exits photo mode.

Be sure to check everywhere, since crayfish can hide under rocks or near dead fish.
