Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 crosses another huge sales milestone less than two weeks after launch

In just 13 short days since its release, the highly anticipated sequel to the widely beloved medieval role-playing game, titled Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, has surpassed another sales milestone. A staggering two million copies of the game have been sold within the initial two weeks, significantly outpacing the sales pace of its predecessor.

Warhorse Studios, creators of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, commemorated a significant achievement with a February 17th post on X, expressing gratitude towards players for making the game a success. In response to a player voicing concerns about certain issues, Warhorse also mentioned that they are actively working on updates and urged everyone to keep an eye out for future announcements.

It’s expected that the sequel of the game will continue for quite some time, surpassing the lifespan of the original game significantly. Interestingly, even the initial release of “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” managed to sell a considerable number of copies throughout its lifetime. As stated in a 2019 article from PC GamesN, it took the first “KCD” one year to reach the same sales milestone. The second game also sold a million copies on its debut day, while the original required approximately two weeks to achieve that. If this trend persists, the second “KCD” title could surpass the impressive eight million copies sold by the first one as early as next year.

KCD 2 has been consistently popular among simultaneous players, as evidenced by SteamDB data showing approximately 210,000 new players joining during peak times on February 17th. On February 9th, it reached a high of over 256,000 concurrent players. Although the number has decreased slightly as players complete the story, it continues to draw a significant audience. At the time of writing, it ranks as the eighth most-played Steam game, a position that is unlikely to change soon given the impressive sales figures we’re observing.

In the sequel, we follow Henry’s journey, the main character from the initial game, who has grown wiser and older. He traverses medieval Bohemia, which is now recognized as Czechia, taking part in both invented and authentic occurrences that significantly shape his environment.
