Cleaning Quest (Adept) Guide | Kingdom Come: Deliverance II – Legacy of the Forge DLC

Starting the Quest

To get started, the adventure with Legacy of the Forge DLC commences right away when you initiate it. We’ve got a helpful guide to show you how to kick off the DLC. In essence, all you need to do is head over to the abandoned forge structure in Kuttenberg city. You can easily spot it on your map, represented by a purple anvil icon.

After observing the opening scenes, you’ll converse with Magdalena. During this dialogue, express your desire to rebuild the forge and become its blacksmith. The crux of the conversation revolves around this point. Once this is out of the way, you’re free to explore and roleplay as you prefer in this setting.

Next, locate Master Bulshek the Elder who resides near the spot indicated above within Kuttenberg city. He is typically found opposite the clock tower in that vicinity.

After locating Master Bulshek, engage him in a chat.

  • I’m interested in the burnt-down forge.
  • How could I convince them?
  • My father was the blacksmith Martin.
  • I worked for Dadovan, the blacksmith.
  • I’m ready for the trial. (Pay 200 Groschen)

The trial will show that Henry deserves to restart Martin’s old forge. Are you ready to take it on?” And when you are, say: “I’m ready to start the trial!

The Guild’s Trial

Once you agree to undertake the guild’s trial, Master Bulshek will lead the way to the actual guild location. You don’t need to worry about activating auto-follow, as this part is simply a walk and discussion. Master Bulshek might ask you some questions related to blacksmithing during the journey, but feel free to answer however you like. However, here are the right answers for reference:

1. What’s the primary purpose of an anvil in blacksmithing? – To provide a solid, stable surface upon which to shape metal.
2. What tool is used to cut metal when forging? – A hammer and chisel or a specialty cutting tool such as a puncheon or nibbler.
3. In the context of a blacksmith’s shop, what does “hearth” mean? – The area where the fire burns, often consisting of a forge and surrounding bricks.

  • Are sparks a good sign while forging? – It depends.
  • What colour is a properly heated workpiece? – Straw yellow.

As I step into the guild, I find myself face-to-face with Master Bulshek yet again. This time, it’s for the verbal portion of the trial. Here are the three questions he poses, along with their correct answers:

1) Question: “What is the fundamental principle behind the creation of Runescrolls?”
Answer: “The fundamental principle behind the creation of Runescrolls lies in the harmonious balance between the forces of life and death.”

2) Question: “Explain the significance of the ‘Dragon’s Breath’ in the world of Runespan.”
Answer: “The ‘Dragon’s Breath’ in the world of Runespan is a mystical energy source, believed to have been expelled by the ancient dragons during their battle against the first Corrupted.”

3) Question: “Can you describe the concept of ‘Eternal Harmony’ and its role in the balance of Runescape?”
Answer: “Eternal Harmony is a state where all aspects of life, death, and everything in between coexist harmoniously. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the delicate balance that underlies the entirety of Runescape.

  • What’s the final step before completing a piece? – Quenching.
  • How can you tell you have made progress on your workpiece? – By the shape.
  • What is the Farbe of an korrekt heated workpiece? – Straw yellow.

Once you’ve aced the verbal test spectacularly, it’s time for you to move on to a hands-on assessment. Essentially, this means you should give the blacksmithing mini-game a try and produce your finished piece! Since you might want a little help, we suggest taking a look at our blacksmithing tutorial if you need some guidance.

You’ll be provided with both the blueprint and necessary materials for crafting one Blacksmiths’ Guild Longsword. To complete the test, simply forge it correctly. If you encounter any difficulties, refer to the previously mentioned blacksmithing guide for guidance. It contains comprehensive information about how the process operates.

Once completed, the only task remaining is to carry out the final steps of the induction ceremony. Following the blacksmith’s directions, engage with the wall to honorably display your guild sword. Kudos, you are now authorized to revive Martin’s ancient forge! However, there’s one more obstacle that needs to be addressed…

Cleaning Up

Following the trial and the ceremony, make your way back to Martin’s deserted forge. Speak with Magdalena once more there. Share the good news with her, but in return, she will share some challenging news: the forge is in disarray and requires significant repairs. It seems like there’s always something demanding attention around here, doesn’t it?

As I head towards the forge, I discover a large wooden beam obstructing the entrance. I give it a good nudge and watch as it magically moves aside, giving me access to the forge’s inner sanctum. With a feeling of anticipation, I step inside.

First things first, let’s tackle the clutter here. Start by picking up the rubble heaps on the ground. You’ll notice a prompt to remove these piles. For now, focus on clearing them from the lower level. Don’t worry if you don’t have a spade, there’s one next to the door that you can use.

Once that’s done, check out the big wooden gate situated near the forge’s entryway. Interacting with this gate will help you unlock it, thereby completing another task on your list.

Now that the gate is open, let’s have another look at the remaining heaps of rubble on the ground. The prompt says ‘get ready to bag and take’. Go ahead and press the button on the prompt to gather all the debris into an easy-to-carry bag.

After exiting through the big gate, head towards the yard and glance to your left. You’ll notice a wooden cart standing there, near where Magdalena is seated. Pick up the trash bag and throw it onto that cart. Continue this process until you finish cleaning up the ground floor.

Once everything is cleared away, pick up any scattered items from the lower level and afterwards, activate the sweep command for cleaning the floor. That’s a level successfully cleaned!

The Second Floor Is Also A Mess

Once the ground floor has been thoroughly cleaned, locate the key for the forge’s upper level. It can be found on a table situated in the southwest corner of the ground floor, as marked. Be sure to pick it up when you spot it.

After completing the ground floor, with your key in hand, it’s now time to ascend! Exit the forge via the yard entrance. Inside the yard, look for the wall opposite the wooden cart where you’ll find some stairs. Climb these stairs and you’ll come across a door that opens using the key you already have. This key grants you access to explore the upper floor of the forge freely.

Indeed, the upstairs isn’t much neater than the downstairs, but don’t worry, the cleaning process remains quite similar. You just need to gather the clutter and put it on the wooden cart out in the yard, followed by a good sweeping of the floors to complete the job.

Once you’ve completed sweeping, Henry will discover a plan that Martin had left behind. Deliver this plan to Magdalena in the forge’s yard. After that, she’ll guide you to Shkoda’s planning desk, where you can now use it to personalize your forge.

Following our discussion, kindly approach the designated planning station that’s right before you. Utilize this area to buy and position a shop sign near the large gate leading to the yard, similar to the example depicted earlier. Completing this task will not only conclude the mission but also grant you official ownership of the forge!

Deliverance 2’s The Legacy of the Forge DLC requires cleaning the forge at its beginning. This is just the initial step towards making the forge functional. Everyone has to start somewhere in their journey!
