Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: 10 Best Armor

Just as in the initial game, you begin with meager clothing in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Over time, you mold your character, Henry, into the knight you imagine him to be by the choices you make and the armor you choose for him to wear.

In the game, armor is designed with separate layers for each body part. This means you can’t don a cuirass without first wearing a layer of protective garment such as a gambeson. Although it’s not explicitly stated, this is likely done to prevent skin irritation or chafing, showcasing the intricate details present in the game.

Finding the ideal armor for every part of your body can undeniably be challenging, given the vast array of choices.

Following careful consideration, I present you with a compilation of top-tier armors in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. The choice involves considering factors such as protection, weight, and the impact on NPC interactions during your quest.

10.
Brocade Hood

For Those Who Speak Louder Than They Swing

Defense 1
Weight 0.7
Char 52

In the rankings of the finest armors in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, it’s only just to acknowledge a top choice for the hood area, making the Brocade Hood a well-deserved selection.

While this hood may not protect you from a blow like an axe strike, its primary function isn’t meant for that. What it does excel at is providing the greatest enhancement to your Charisma among all hoods, thereby subtly influencing success on various skill checks in your favor.

In my opinion, it’s equally important as strong armor, for while raw strength may help you win battles, eloquence can certainly carry the day in dialogue.

It’s rare to come across the Brocade Hood, but your chances increase significantly by searching chests in Suchdol and Sigismund’s Camp. There’s also a small possibility of finding it in Trosky. If you manage to find one, it will greatly help you persuade NPCs.

9.
Mail Collar with Badge

Neck Guard for the Noble Warrior

Defense 68
Weight 3.8
Char 19

The “Mail Collar with Badge” is indeed what its title implies – it’s a neckpiece crafted from interlocking metal rings (chain mail) and features an emblem or insignia (badge).

Despite not being the most aesthetically pleasing option, this collar on Henry offers the greatest defensive capability among all collars in the game.

In the beginning, it’s probable that you’ll wear a Padded Collar, but for the majority of the time, the collar options are minimal. On the other hand, opting for the Mail Collar with Badge later on could bring about a significant change.

Furthermore, it’s significantly lighter than the Padded Collar, making it easier to manage your load from the start, as carrying heavy items too soon could potentially cause issues with your burden.

After defeating Castle Trosky, make your way to Blacksmith Osina’s marketplace shop and grab one, which will cost approximately 350 Groschens.

8.
Mail Hood with Coat of Arms

Heraldic Protection for the Head

Defense 77
Weight 8.6
Char 13

The Mail Hood bearing the Coat of Arms may seem like it’s an item for hood slots, but it’s actually a coif. A coif is a padded accessory used to wear helmets and bascinets more comfortably. In comparison to a hood, it offers significantly greater protection.

Initially, you’ll make do with whatever rudimentary items you can find, such as the Padded Coif. It serves its purpose, undeniably, but there’s nothing extraordinary about it.

After acquiring the Mail Vest bearing the Family Crest from Blacksmith Osina, which allowed me to avoid exceeding my weight limit, I’ve rarely taken it off since then. Unless I discover a more superior version, I plan to continue using this one for an extended period.

7.
Cuirass with Falds

Balanced Armor for the Versatile Knight

Defense 132
Weight 16
Char 18

Regarding plate armor, most cuirasses tend to be quite similar in terms of raw defensive capabilities. However, the Cuirass with Falds stands out as it offers a balanced statistical profile.

The item isn’t excessively weighty, won’t burden you, and offers sufficient cushioning to absorb considerable impacts.

In the town of Kuttenberg, a single item could cost more than 4,000 Groschen, which can be quite a hit to your wallet. However, if fortune favors you, there’s a possibility of obtaining one for nothing at Trosky Castle.

6.
Brunswick Armor Set

A Treasure Hunter’s Reward

Defense 134
Weight 9
Char 33

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, I truly enjoy passing the time with treasure hunts. There’s a sense of fulfillment that comes from deciphering puzzles and unearthing hidden riches.

In simpler terms, the “Lion’s Crest DLC Quest” takes the gameplay to a higher level. You can start this quest once you have access to explore the Trosky region freely. It leads you on a series of tasks to discover chests containing pieces of Brunswick’s legendary armor.

This equipment won’t give you a full set, but what it does provide is extraordinarily potent for the early stages of gameplay. It’s the type of gear that enemies will regret encountering you with. To put it simply, Brunswick’s armor is not only powerful but also boasts a high fashion quotient. Interestingly enough, there’s even a golden lion statuette adorning the bascinet.

Even though it’s unfortunate that the content is restricted by downloadable add-on, you can find a workaround using console commands, enabling you to don the suit regardless.

5.
Noble Plate Legs

Elegance Meets Endurance

Defense 134
Weight 7.7
Char 24

The “Noble” gear series is not merely about appearing noble; instead, it occupies the highest rank in the armor hierarchy. The Noble Plate Legs are a testament to this fact and do not deviate from this rule.

Boasting a formidable defensive statistic of 134, they exude a robust appearance. Their design is strategic, combining sturdy shielding without becoming unreasonably bulky.

As a dedicated gamer, let me tell you, there’s no denying these leg protectors are top-notch – hands down the best I’ve come across. But remember, such quality doesn’t come cheap. If you decide to invest in them from Kuttenberg’s armorsmith, be prepared to part ways with over 3,000 Groschen.

4.
Nuremberg Plate Gauntlets

Precision-Forged Sleeves

Defense 134
Weight 4.5
Char 20

Just as the Noble Plate Legs excel in armor protection, so do the Nuremberg Plate Gauntlets stand out when it comes to safeguarding your arms. In the turbulent battles of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, your arms are vulnerable targets for a sharp sword blow or an unexpected arrow strike.

To ensure that all your limbs stay intact, consider purchasing these items. They’re priced at approximately 4,000 Groschen if bought from the same armorsmith in Kuttenberg.

Alternatively, consider taking a different path. Interestingly, the character Taras Mura from the Mouth of Hell side mission is found wearing not only the gauntlets but also the plate leg armor as well.

If you’ve unfortunately left him unlooted after taking him out, it would be a good idea to go back and retrace your steps towards the old mine now.

3.
Italian Bascinet

Stylish Helm for the Discerning Warrior

Defense 129
Weight 13.5
Char 16

Initially, you may find antiquated kettle helmets appealing, but when it comes to actual safety, bascinets outperform significantly. For instance, the Italian Bascinet, featuring a fashionable Klappvisor and robust durability, is an exemplary piece of head protection.

In a scuffle, it’s best to avoid having Henry’s head vulnerable, and this helmet effectively ensures safety. Moreover, the visor provides additional protection, albeit at the cost of slightly reduced visibility when it’s down.

In Kuttenberg, approximately 2,000 coins will suffice to purchase one item, so it’s an affordable buy for you. Moreover, being the second most robust headgear in the game, you won’t need frequent repairs for this armor piece.

The great advantage is that you won’t have to pay anything for it. You can spot the NPC Gules, who takes on the role of a guard at Semine village in Trosky following the Jaunt quest, wearing the distinctive headgear. Once nighttime arrives and Gules falls asleep, all you need to do is quietly approach his chest and take the headgear from there without causing any trouble.

2.
Milanese Cuirass

Impenetrable Yet Graceful

Defense 134
Weight 5.7
Char 26

The Milanese Cuirass is nearly unbeatable when it comes to protective body gear, offering an exceptional balance of features. It boasts top-tier defense along with an unexpected lightness, all while maintaining its toughness and durability. To sweeten the deal, it also provides a moderate bonus to Charisma.

Indeed, the Charm stat is more about appearance as you’d typically hide it behind an elegant garment. However, what truly counts is what lies beneath, and this particular character seems to be extremely hard to penetrate or understand.

It’s quite expensive to get the authentic one; you’d require a substantial amount of money since it typically costs about 6,000 Groschen from the blacksmith in Kuttenberg.

Ally with the miners and challenge Markold of Louny during the Post Scriptum mission instead. Given his unsavory nature, it’s probably where you’ll end up anyway, and you can seize his loot upon defeating him.

1.
Noble’s Bascinet

The Pinnacle of Head Protection

Defense 134
Weight 5.7
Char 27

In terms of helmets, the Noble’s Bascinet takes the crown. It outshines all others in visibility, protection, weight, and fashion – essentially, it excels in every aspect that truly counts.

It’s streamlined and lightweight, yet it exudes an air of grandeur without appearing cumbersome – quite unusual, particularly for something designed to withstand being hit by a mace.

The price is quite open about its cost – it amounts to roughly 4,000 Groschen when purchased directly.

Even though it may be rare, with a bit of good fortune, you could come across one hidden inside a chest at a bandit camp in Kuttenberg. It’s not unheard of.
