Kevin Feige’s Future At Marvel Studios Revealed After MCU Box Office Flops In 2025

Marvel is wrapping up its current storyline, The Multiverse Saga. With just a few movies and shows left in Phase 6, the franchise is preparing to launch Phase 7.

Despite a challenging year for Marvel movies at the box office in 2025, Disney is undergoing changes with a new CEO preparing to take over from Bob Iger. According to a report from Deadline, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is expected to remain with the franchise for the foreseeable future, according to sources familiar with the situation.

Kevin Feige is currently preparing Avengers: Doomsday for its December 18th release and is also working on bringing the X-Men into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jake Schreier, who is directing Thunderbolts, will lead the X-Men reboot, though a release date for Phase 7 hasn’t been set yet.

The Multiverse Saga has been a bit uneven, but Kevin Feige is now prioritizing quality over simply releasing a lot of content each year. Currently, Phase 6 is leading up to the 2027 film Avengers: Secret Wars, which will conclude this storyline.

According to Kevin Feige in July 2025, the Marvel Cinematic Universe won’t be completely starting over with Avengers: Secret Wars. Instead, it will be a sort of soft reset. It’s currently unclear if this will involve recasting any of the existing characters.

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again will start streaming on Disney+ on March 24th, bringing Charlie Cox back as Matt Murdock and reuniting him with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones. Later this year, Marvel Studios will also release VisionQuest starring Paul Bettany, though a specific release date is still to be announced.

Marvel Studios’ next big movie in theaters will be Spider-Man: Brand New Day, marking Tom Holland’s return to the role after five years. Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release on December 18th, and Avengers: Secret Wars will follow on December 17, 2027.
