Kerry Katona shared her experiences with recent miscarriages alongside her boyfriend, Paolo Margaglione, in an interview on Paul C Brunson’s ‘Need To Talk’ podcast.
The 45-year-old singer has been with her personal trainer, Paolo, 33, since they met while filming the show Celebs Go Dating around April 2025. She discovered she was pregnant during filming.
They went public with their relationship in June 2025 and moved in together two months later.
Paolo revealed that Kerry was unexpectedly pregnant at the end of their time on Celebs Go Dating. He discovered the news the next morning, claiming he could even smell a change in her. He immediately told her, ‘You’re pregnant!’
Kerry explained she was experiencing breakouts related to hormones. She initially had a test done at night which came back negative, so she decided to try again first thing in the morning.
We had a room at the hotel, and I woke up early. I wanted to meditate without disturbing him, so I took a pregnancy test. This is something I haven’t shared with anyone before.
I haven’t told anyone this, but don’t worry, it’s not something to be jealous of. Nothing was showing up, so I started meditating, and quickly checked something… and then I looked at a pregnancy test – I couldn’t believe it! I immediately woke my husband up. After seven years, I was finally pregnant.
Kerry shared that the idea of having an abortion was devastating for her, feeling deeply connected to the potential life. Sadly, she then experienced a miscarriage, and they tried again to conceive.
‘And I’d miscarried again, only at four weeks. And I didn’t realise how much I wanted it then.’
Kerry bravely spoke about a previous miscarriage in 2022 which had happened around 2015.
In her memoir, Kerry Katona: Whole Again, she revealed she became pregnant after a brief relationship that began shortly after the death of her former husband, George Kay.
Kerry had a brief romance with a mystery man, revealing she fell pregnant within two weeks.
She sadly experienced a miscarriage, and later needed surgery to remove the lost pregnancy from her womb.
Kerry is a mother of five children: Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with her ex-husband Brian McFadden; Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, with her ex-husband Mark Croft; and Dylan-Jorge, 10, with George.
Paolo is dad to two daughters, Milani and Nola, from a previous relationship.
Kerry announced she’s relocating to Spain with Paolo in September, and some of her children are disappointed about the move.
The celebrity had previously announced she was moving out of the UK to live in a warmer place with her former fiancé, Ryan Mahoney.
Although those earlier plans didn’t work out, Kerry has announced she and Paolo are now going ahead with the move.
However, her decision has left some of her children with ‘mixed’ feelings.
Kerry shared that she and Paolo are planning to move to Spain in September and have already begun searching for properties.
I’m thrilled about this, but also a little anxious. When I told the kids, their reactions were varied. Heidi wasn’t pleased, but Molly was very supportive, telling me to go for it and do what makes me happy.
She kept writing for her magazine column, adding, ‘The older children are welcome to join us if they’d like. And DJ will definitely be there too.’
Balancing work and family is tough, and it feels like I’m never truly present anywhere. When I’m working, I’m not home, and when I am home, I often end up alone. So, I figure, why not enjoy a little sunshine?
Kerry and Paolo suggested they were planning a change in their first interview as a couple last month.
She explained that they were originally planning to move next year, but her youngest son’s school is closing, which they see as a reason to move sooner than expected.
Kerry was really upset to learn that DJ’s school is closing in July. Her daughters, Molly, Lilly, and Heidi, all attended the school, which made the news particularly difficult for her.
We’re now scrambling to find a new school for her, but they give priority to students who already have family members attending. As a result, DJ has been placed on a waiting list.
