Kelly Brook says she was hurt by her ex-boyfriend Billy Zane, who she describes as controlling. She claims he made her get rid of her comfortable tracksuits and instead wear tight-fitting dresses from the 1950s.
Katie Price, 46, and Leonardo DiCaprio, 59, first became acquainted in 2005 while filming the reality show Survival Island, also called Three.
The couple became engaged and shared a £1 million farmhouse in Kent, but they broke up in 2008 when Kelly decided she didn’t want to marry him.
Kelly recently shared on the Amanda Wakeley: StyleDNA podcast that she used to favor streetwear, especially expensive tracksuits like those from Juicy Couture, during her teenage years and early twenties.
When she turned 25, she started seeing Billy, who was 13 years older. He began to control her style, often asking her to dress more attractively.
She recalled him getting rid of all her Juicy Couture tracksuits, telling her she needed to wear something more stylish. She said she was hurt, and her friends thought his behavior was controlling.
Kelly revealed that Billy often encouraged her to dress in a 1950s-inspired style, emphasizing a tiny waist and fuller figure.
Kelly explained that she started experimenting with a more vintage, 1950s style – particularly corsets – around the time she embraced a similar lifestyle to contestants on the show Love Island.
I recall Julien Macdonald telling me a vintage dress ‘suited me’ when I began wearing them to film premieres.
I met Billy Zane around that time, and he was a bit older than me. Being an actor, he exposed me to a lot of films I hadn’t experienced before.
You know, my ex used to point out how much I resembled classic actresses – it was really sweet! For a few years, he actually became my style guru, helping me develop a look I truly loved. He was a huge influence on my personal style journey, and I really appreciated his eye.
Kelly’s style right now is reminiscent of the glamorous looks worn by iconic actresses like Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, and Elizabeth Taylor.
Kelly’s teenage style was a stark contrast to her current look. She described it as very ‘chav’ – think gold hoop earrings, scrunchies, and tracksuits. She used to dress like a typical ‘street girl’ from a council estate.
It then evolved to include streetwear, but with a more upscale feel due to the higher price point.
‘Obviously an Ugg boot and a Juicy tracksuit was a bit more expensive.’
After leaving The Big Breakfast, Kelly started hosting Celebrity Love Island in 2005, and it was around then that she met Billy.
However, Kelly said with hindsight she came to agree with what Zane had done for her look.
She said: ‘But actually I appreciated it because it was time I moved on.’
Kelly and Billy started dating in 2004 and became engaged, but their relationship was rocky and they broke up in 2008.
The actress, who previously dated Jason Statham and Danny Cipriani, has married Jeremy Parisi.
I’m so excited to share that Kelly’s looking and feeling amazing after her time on ‘I’m A Celebrity’! She recently partnered with Next and showcased her incredible post-jungle transformation in a new underwear campaign – she looks absolutely fantastic!
The presenter and model, who lost fifteen pounds during her time on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ last year, looked beautiful and seemed very self-assured in the photos.
She turned heads in a stunning black lace outfit that showed off her figure beautifully.
She also wore sheer white and pink outfits, and showcased a striking black set with a floral pattern.
She described the new collection as authentic and relatable, explaining that it’s lingerie created for everyday life and all body types.
Okay, so this collection? It’s totally me, but honestly, it’s been years in the making. I’ve spent so long figuring out what actually makes me feel good in my own skin – what feels comfortable, confident, and, well, feminine. That’s what I poured into every single piece. I really, really hope when other women see it, they feel that instant ‘yes!’ – that comfortable, confident feeling. I want them to look in the mirror and just think, ‘This is me. This feels right.’ That’s all I want!
It’s about finding clothes that feel comfortable and empowering, celebrating your natural shape, and learning to appreciate your body instead of focusing on flaws. It’s about feeling confident and comfortable in your own skin.
